Had the pleasure of catching Dispirit's set at the Scion Rock Fest in Pomona, CA this past weekend, and it was loving incredible. The band features SF black metal legend John Gossard, of Weakling fame. So, be belligerently torn up, turn off all the lights, fill your room with smoke, and play this louder than humanly possible and you might have a vague idea of what its like to see Dispirit wreck poo poo live. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWDXjykeSyc

Not exactly the kind of stuff everyone else is posting, but they're very heavily influenced by the SF sludge scene and doomy to boot. I love the very technical, but incredibly subtle drumwork. Worm Ouroboros is the loving poo poo. Very soft at the beginning, it decays and gets pretty gnarly at about the 5:20 mark. Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WnivZdY4rt4&feature=related

Hey sludgey goons, I'm going to be conducting my first interview for https://www.cvltnation.com at the Yob/Dark Castle/Dispirt/Worm Ouroboros show this Saturday. Do any of you have specific questions for any of the bands? To those of you that have done this kind of stuff before, do you have any tips? Its appreciated

If any of y'all are interested, this is the interview I did with Worm Ouroboros back in August that I just finished transcribing. http://www.cvltnation.com/stillness-fragility-cyclical-existence-an-evening-with-worm-ouroboros/#more-19033 Was able to make it out to Portland last weekend for Fall into Darkness. Atriarch loving ruled. Best doom I've heard in a while! Not sure if they've been posted before, but check them out: http://pitchfork.com/reviews/tracks/12420-shadows/ Objurium fucked around with this message at 04:10 on Oct 14, 2011 |

I just binge revisited Asunder's entire discography over the past day and goddamn, those dudes were onto something. I feel like there's no funeral doom act save for maybe Bell Witch that manages to convey this enormous sense of weight throughout, and the guitar tone is just absolutely massive. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ySAS76d7T7k
