Kamni rules. Here's Brainoil, dirty California sludge/hardcore. Seems like they broke up after releasing one album a few years ago.

God drat it, all this Roadburn talk is making me jealous. Hopefully next year I'll have the time and money, because drat, every year is a killer lineup. Ufomammut should tour the US sometime soon. Ufomammut/YOB/Bongripper tour, laying waste to everything in their path. A dude can dream...

I went to Floor's first show of their reunion tour last night, and I must say they did not disappoint, it was by far one of the best shows I've been to in years.

I was there too. Do you live in Atlanta? Don't mean to clog up the thread with this, so feel free to message me on AIM (it's in my profile) if you want - I'm always down to meet people who like good music.

edit: Also, call me crazy, but Ocean Chief's "Tor" and "Fluidage" definitely deserve to be on the reccomended listening list for the OP. Ocean Chief - Through Iraq I Ran is one of the few full versions available online as most of their tracks are too long to be on YouTube. This is seriously heavy Swedish doom that needs to be heard. If you haven't heard "Sorceror on Dope" with your amp turned up to 11, you're missing out.

"Leagues of slow riffage fuzz, awesome vocals, huge power trio sludge from SWEDEN. You need a back up bag to get through this one. Better get a spare lighter too. THIS IS DOOM!"

I have a ticket for the Sleep show in NYC on June 22nd, but I just realized that unfortunately I can't make it. The full price of the ticket after Ticketmaster bullshit was 35, I'll sell it for 30. Just trying to get most of my money back here.

PM/AIM/whatever if you're interested.

Hey dude, I haven't seen you online at all. I haven't been on 24/7 or anything so we might have just missed each other. It'd probably be easier if you just shoot me an email at nuclearguru99 at gmail.

For the Clutch fans: I found a veritable treasure trove of rarities, demo versions, etc here: http://www.ben-carlson.com/index.php?s=clutch. I'm a super Clutch fanboy so this was a great find for me. Neil's solo stuff is certainly a surprise.

Just found HD footage of what appears to be a full Bongripper set from January of this year. A camcorder mic trying to pickup drop F is a joke of course but still, it rules.

I'm going to this as well, it's gonna be awesome. I'll be seeing them in NYC, what about you?

In other news, I've been diggin this EP by Blue Aside: http://blueaside.bandcamp.com/album/the-orange-tree. Excellent space doom in the vein of Sons of Otis (note the name of the second track) with some really great riffing and songwriting. Vocals are split between some growly-type stuff and thick harmonies which is pretty cool.

That's what I'm talkin about.

Also Asteroid (both albums, absolutely top shelf psychedelic spacey stoner rock with very well done vocals), Greenleaf, and Dozer. All of those are, like Truckfighters, Swedish and awesome.

That track is a classic of the genre for sure. Bout time I gave that another spin.

Sorry if this has already been covered, but where do you guys get most of your stoner rock-related news? Ever since stonerrock.com and its forums died I haven't really been keeping up with the scene. Has anyone picked up where they left off?

https://www.theobelisk.net is the best music blog out there imo. The guy that runs it was a writer for stonerrock.com and the forums are apparently kind of a continuation of the SR forums, but I wouldn't know cause I never really posted there.

There are also quite a few download blogs to be found... I'd post them but I don't want to get banned for :files:.

I'm moving into a new apartment this weekend and I'm in search of some good Satan Worshipping Goons-style images to rasterbate and put up on the walls. Anyone got any suggestions of great album art or live photos, or places to find them?

The only thing that sucked was that I had to elbow a random dude in the face, though, because he was being fat and obnoxious. I wish I could go to at least one gig that didn't have a fat dude squirming his way to the front row and behaving like an rear end in a top hat.

Fat dudes are just part of the deal with metal shows. It's like the heaviness of the music creates a gravitational pull from which they cannot escape.

Yeah, I really want to see to Yob again and wouldn't mind seeing Tool but $55 before fees is a bit too rich for my blood. Definitely well-deserved for Yob though. I saw Yob in a tiny venue here in Atlanta this summer, it'd be interesting to see them in a big arena. I want to see how the more casual fans react to Yob's mega-doom.
