Binge posted:My hardest thing with autocross has always been the course layout. The last one I did, I missed a turn every single time. When the course has sections that criss-cross, my poor brain begins to fail. Would drawing myself a little map and taping it to my dash or something help? I always try to get a few ride alongs.

This is my first autocross video in the 1991 Civic si. Learned lots with the car, mostly how large the gap is to fully prepared STC cars. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLX0QcozNPE Chriskory fucked around with this message at 19:52 on Mar 18, 2014 |

The RE-11A are great in the wet, and Advan Neova. They just came out with the R-S3 in 195/50/15, that's what I wish I'd got (instead of the Bridgestones).

Placed 2nd in STC, because leaning (my head) over helps the car turn. http://youtu.be/FCAGR4DYPkA Chriskory fucked around with this message at 18:14 on Apr 15, 2014 |

I placed 1st in STC and scored 945 points on pax. Almost makes me want to prepare my car more seriously. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6BK9unW69o Also saw some cool cars during my photographer work assignment. Chriskory fucked around with this message at 00:33 on Apr 28, 2014 |

Brigdh posted:What isn't shown is the exhaust pipe that sticks out 4 feet past the rear bumper. At least they had the foresight to bring their own cone to put next to it in grid so that people didn't burn themselves walking by. Brigdh posted:Kinch in a local who owns a nationally competitive Civic and has won several titles with it. He can probably tell you exactly what to do if you ask on the local forums. I talked with Kinch while helping push his civic onto the trailer after he broke an axle this winter. I'm trying to daily drive mine so I can't prepare it to that same level. Stephen Murphy has a red one that is national ready but he still drives to events. Tough balance. You've got the silver RX8? or the purple blue? Rain arrived, but I managed 1st in STC over the Impreza. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CvXSqPoi3rQ Robert Thorne showed up and ruined my pax score (or reminded me I'm average) Chriskory fucked around with this message at 00:59 on May 12, 2014 |

Kinch Reindl's Civic beat me by 3 seconds. His car is more then 200 lbs lighter and his springs are nearly twice as stiff, makes mine look like an SUV. He'll be at the Nebraska ProSolo, hopefully he wins. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_7YiuFCkI0 Chriskory fucked around with this message at 04:44 on May 20, 2014 |

Chalk or flour lines make it pretty easy, and simple course designs. At one event this January 50-60 people were picking up DNF's. At that point it's likely a design problem. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kBVGJWACzBc Here I get 1st in STC by 7 hundredths...

My friend beat me in my own car, despite his massive slide. I did backend a cone however. First run is 53.2 +1 and his is second at 53.7 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Gk3b7KcoKQ

First autocross in the BRZ this past weekend. It felt very safe and predictable, but a little boring. I think I'll move from C Street into STX at some point next year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qwtRicN5It4

Picked up some RS3 at the Denver Tire Rack warehouse this morning. Smells good in the BRZ now.

The Locator posted:The talk in my area is that the new hotness it the just released Bridgestone Potenza RE-71R. It's supposed to make the RS-3 v2 & Dunlop Star Spec's seem slow, but I don't have any personal experience with them. The guy who pointed 1000 was on the new Bridgestones, he said they were probably the tire to beat. Sharper than the Toyo and closer in grip to a slick.

Oh, I don't think you'd have much luck with those tires and 0 camber anyway.
