Some personal favorites: Basil Wolverton — his art is a portal to a sweaty, greasy Weirdness Dimension where every twelve seconds something is punctuated by a shrill orchestral sting played on a dirty phonograph.  Jim Lawson — classic TMNT artist (the best, I think) with a deceptively simple style and loads of personality, always perfectly balancing comedy and pathos. He's one of those artists whose pencils never look nearly as good when other people ink them.  Geof Darrow — every panel he draws is like the first thing you see after stepping out of a time machine on a bright spring morning when you're already a little hung over.
