FutureBoy posted:I love when artists remember that Logan is supposed to be really short. What's the giant explosion from? I can make out some woman and Archangel but I don't recall ever seeing that spread before. It's from the first run of the new X-Force strike team. The woman is X23, I think.

Yeah, I was referring to the explosion pic when I said I think that's X23. Sorry, didn't mean to start a whole derail about clone loving.

Finally I can now jerk off to Wolverine AND Red Skull without feeling bad!

I'm not sure who's to blame here, but goddamn.

IUG posted:Maybe I'm just blinded because I like that series, but I don't really see that much wrong with that cover. Can you go into a bit more detail? The face is completely off for Wolverine. He looks like a mouse or something. It reminds me of those awful covers someone linked a few pages back except those had good art aside from their covers. Also his pose is just weird and awkward. There's nothing about him that looks like he's in the middle of natural movement. He's just squatty and creepy looking.

Unkempt posted:Meanwhile, back in the 90s... If your cover doesn't have the word blood on it at least more than once then it's not a 90's comic book.

Whatever it is it caused the poor girl's spine to snap. It also caused her sister/clone thing right above her to have a left leg that's half as long as it needs to be.

DarkCrawler posted:Seriously, are they running out of artists who want work or something? Why are these people hired? I did a Google image search of Harvey Tolibao after seeing that image and it seems like his stuff isn't that bad. Maybe it was a rough day or maybe he had major time constraints or something. That's not too uncommon in the comic art world.

Right, but how does that explain the broken spine? Or any of that other silly (bad) stuff, for that matter.

Wait, how isn't that a Liefeld drawing?

Madrox posted:Wha... What exactly is going on with Supergirl there? Is she wearing a 2-inch long skirt? And that is an odd position to fly in... I thought the same thing. My first thought was "traced from porn".

Baron Bifford posted:This was a Michael Turner cover for Justice League of America #1 (2006). It's Turner at his worst. Wonder Woman looks like an old woman. Black Canary has Down Syndrome. Red Arrow (Arsenal, Speedy, whatever) is aiming an arrow at Hal's neck. Aside from the weird faces this one doesn't look that bad to me.

That reminds me. I was on a nostalgia read of Maximum Carnage the other day when this happened: Sorry for the cell phone pic. You probably don't want it to look any better.

Those are all fine except for the last panel on the third one.

I think you can make an exception for overly muscular 90's-like imagery when it comes to Bane because he's supposed to look ridiculous, right?

The 90's X-Men costumes that Jim Lee designed will forever be branded in my brain as "THIS IS HOW THE X-MEN ARE SUPPOSED TO LOOK" regardless of how silly they are. It's easily entirely childhood nostalgia getting the better of me, but I just can't get enough of that style.
