i’m just starting and tinkering around with geek and giga news (3 day and 14 day free trials) and probably will try to use an old laptop as a media centre (?) but it is very funny how people keep referencing downloading linux isos, dude must have 1000s on his nas

can i ask what apps that people are using for watching video on their iphone? i’m using jellyfin so i assume swiftfin makes the most sense but i work in an area with terrible wifi so i can’t really stream remotely and downloading is essential but not possible on the app unfortunately

Baba Oh Really posted:If you are running the jellyfin server client you may have to go in the options and enable downloads for that specific user (dashboard -> users). It is definitely possible but I don't remember if it is enabled by default. thanks, think it’s a feature that’s been discontinued (?). either way managed to mangle my way around it use the files ios app to connect to the server via tailscales, copy/ drag files over to my iphone storage and use VLC to play whatever random codec needed
