I mentioned being down 1-4 in the pitching categories of the WIS fantasy league to Art even after Liriano's no-hitter. After Verlander's no-hitter and Gallardo's attempt being broken up after 7.2 IP, I'm still losing WHIP.

I think my teams have really shown the level of competition in goon leagues: In 17 seasons, I've made the playoffs 9 times, and out of seasons I've missed the playoffs, the breakdown is: 3x rebuilding progressive league teams (whatever) 1x loss to Manifunk in game 163 in goon rush OL 1x Godawful Chief Bender Random Captains team 3x S12, S13, S14

My 15 last place team is so awesome. It's leading the league in runs scored and has the most runs allowed, going along with a .994 OPS and .970 OPS against.

I meant to ask this a while ago, but has anyone else used 1922 Ray Grimes before? Since S14 I've been using him in literally every format I can, and he's just continuing to rule. In Win Your First Championship, he was batting .399 three-quarters of the way through the season.

I'd go with the same advice Jefferson gave me about the 15 losing teams league: play your good defensive 3B at SS and move your OF to third. So far Zimmerman at SS and Alfonso Soriano at 3B is working for me.

Having never done the theme before, I really like Pedro since his absurd K/9 should cut down on balls in play/errors. Hopefully Stade Olympique/whatever my co-captain brings can help cut down on dingers.

Four-goon division in Two-man Band, Barry Bonds is going to eat Pedro alive, although with Cronin's defense/Pedro's OAV I'm liking the Ichiro/Appling matchups. Whoa, Random Captains is already full? That was way too fast.

Ahahaha poor Pedro Martinez, now instead of being in the Bonds/Appling/Ichiro division he's pitching in the Bonds/Ruth/Lave Cross division.

Congratulations, guys! As a sidenote, my RC&C team is painfully mediocre, with the exception of extra innings-record; with 99 games played, they're 0-13. I wonder what the record is for most winless extra-inning games in a season is?

I'm really looking forward to this season of RC, I haven't done a dinger team in a while and the only guy on my team I've ever used a season of before is Dick Allen. There are a bunch of guys I've wanted to use before, too: the best seasons of Steve Carlton, Gorman Thomas, Robin Yount, Cecil Cooper and Rollie Fingers along with 2B-era Molitor. Also the division looks like a cakewalk, everyone else really overdrafted IP and PA.

After starting 2-6 in two-man band, I'm really liking team Pedro/Cronin bouncing back with an 11-3 streak. Pedro's runs allowed and WHIP are ridiculously good compared to league average, and Cronin's doing his part in the team only allowing 27 unearned runs through 22 games.
