It's hard to be humble when you're as great as I am.
The X100 looks perfect for what I want, but I've read a lot of complaints about focusing speed and that it locks up for a few seconds between shots. Is it enough of an issue to be problematic? I'd be mostly doing street photography.

No its not a problem at all. I have a class 6 lovely duracell sd card and raw write speed is like 1.5 sec. I never went "drat I could have got that shot if the cam wrote faster!"

Autofocus speed is also not slow. I shoot manual all the time now because for some reason in manual mode autofocus (by pressing the af lock button) is way faster than regular autofocus mode and you can keep firing the camera from the hip like a rangefinder.

It is the perfect camera for street photography. I love so much that I have decided to sell my 7D and L lenses because I want to shoot with the x100 for a year at least and learn this focal lenght. Also you dont ever want to lug around a heavy dslr after using this.
