I dunno, in London UK I did almost exactly that via an agency and it's increasingly common. Landlords are cowards and just want to know they have no risk of not getting paid. The moment we agreed X months up front the credit agent even said to me, regarding the employment form, 'oh don't bother filling that out since you're paying in advance we don't need it'. E: actually if you're in the UK and self employed, my understanding is that's basically the only option to rent anything
