gingivitis the wart posted:I posted this in the Trent Reznor thread already, but my band From Exile released a free EP of Nine Inch Nails covers a couple weeks ago. I played guitar, keys, bass, did about half the vocals, and comixed it. Did you have to get licensing or permission for it, or are you going guerilla on that poo poo? I've been wanting to do a CD of my covers (almost 100% inspired from the ML Rockstar Series) but get stuck at the licensing/copyright/lawyers part. My two favorite covers that I did that took the song in a totally different direction are "I Just Can't Wait To Be King" from the Lion King:  And "I Would Die For You" - It's probably the one Prince song I hated. I wanted to re-do it as the feelgood hit of the summer. I play it live at most of my gigs and people dig the poo poo out of it. Kinda proud of what I did.
