I feel like i should re-read the manga or something, because I don't really remember some of this poo poo at all. Also I kind of think Mikasa is a secret titan who knows more than she's said. The top 5 people in the trainee program, how many are confirmed titans? That's right, four. And Mikasa is #1. As a kid she promptly crushed the handle of the knife in her hand, and broke wood simply by controlling her muscles to propel her forward. Something I just thought of: Is titan stomach acid a way to unfreeze annie? What is the situation with fusing with the titan, do you lose your appendages? If you truly get "absorbed" then what is the point of cutting the neck of titans? Shouldn't there be nothing left?

Since this manga has usually stayed somewhat grounded in terms of physics and explanations of how poo poo works, I find a tiny little girl who likely had no real muscles to speak of could crush wood with her hands and push down so hard that she breaks the floorboards anything else than signs of mild titanfication. It's been shown several times you can sort of "enhance" your abilities by tapping into them somewhat (reiner getting out of annie's grip, eren just now in this recent chapter punching a titan) Also the fact that injuries heal the "pilot" even when not a titan all leads to signs that it is usable while remaining in human form.
