My husband and I will be getting our own house very soon. What about things like parasites or mites? Do chickens get fleas? What's the best way to keep them healthy in general? Here's a story from my town about feral chickens http://www.nola.com/pets/index.ssf/2011/04/feral_chickens_have_proliferat.html They really are everywhere. It's not uncommon to see Roosters strutting around my neighborhood or have hens pecking through garbage.
