Seems like VMP is a good one to pass on then, thanks. Especially as I'd need to fork out international shipping. Gonna put that money into buying some wild Dillinger Escape Plan LPs instead.

Thanks to cataloguing I also found one of my LPs would be sold for about $1100AU which was a neat surprise, considering its for a local Australian band that's not King Gizzard.

I have two VHS cassettes.

- Regurgitator - Live in Brisbane 1998. It’s still sealed, but slightly dirty because it was saved from their old drummer's house during the Brisbane floods a few years back.

- Spod - Adult Fantasy. Because Spod decided that the only physical release of the album would be on VHS. It’s perverse.

They both live in a drawer because I don’t know what to do with them.

That reminds me that I need to go track down the reissue of Unit soon

Stoked on finding the HBO Watchmen Volume 1 soundtrack for $55AU, considering it's brand new and sealed. It usually hits $90 at most shops; same with Harry Styles.

Something I didn't notice in my haste - the Fleetwood Mac live album is super warped. Considering we're getting to 40ish degrees celsius tomorrow is it worth leaving it out in ambient temperature with a weight on it to try and salvage it?

I overpaid for DFA1979's first LP when it was first reissued on pink vinyl, because the Discogs seller sent a black variant. I ate the loss because Aus-Canada shipping was going to be an absolute pain in the arse and that's been my last Discogs purchase because like ebay I simply cannot be hosed dealing with third party sellers.

On the upside, I think I mentioned my Violent Soho record that's stunningly worth $1500. Pretty sure I grabbed it from the guitarist when he started working at McDonald's near where I was studying for like, $20.

More havedcore, had TMOC introduced to me last month and was told their big influences were Big Black and Joy Division and yep, you can hear it.

There was a 30th anniversary edition released in 2019 and the label still has some in stock so that's what this is. No where on the website is it mentioned that the vinyl is green so that was a nice surprise.

Big box store was clearing out some stock at relatively decent Australian prices, so nabbed:

Dua Lipa - Future Nostalgia
Muse - Absolution
Chvrches - Screen Violence

Future Nostalgia whips, Absolution is the second best Muse album and they didn't have Origin of Symmetry so I settled, and Screen Violence gets a pretty good rap around here so I blind bought it. Pretty neat way to close Friday.

man the LCD Soundsystem "final" show boxset sounds so good and is v v v pretty, but gently caress as the owner of a single turntable I hate that it's A/C B/D E/H F/I G/J or coupled or whatever they call it, but given that I've somehow lost my blu-ray copy of the concert I'm just happy to have a version again

I also took big swings on Four Tet's and Yves Tumor's discographies after watching Coachella livestreams, so I got Four Tet's Rounds reissue and Sixteen Oceans and Yves Tumor's The Asymptomatical World and Safe in the Hands of Love. All absolute winners.

I've been waiting and waiting to pull the trigger on the Girl Talk vinyl but now the site isn't up for me either.

In happier news, a new Loser edition of the live Postal Service album scanned for $24.99 instead of the ticketed $74.99 so I'm guessing thats the community chest "bank error in my favour" card pull for the year gone. Finally got my first King Gizzard bootleg, the Fuzz Club Live in Austin 2014/2016 boxset. Sounds rad, and I grabbed Chunky Shrapnel for super cheap the other week so I've got live versions of most of their bangers. It's also reminded me that I really should sell the cassette version of 12 Bar Bruise I got when I ordered their first album on release - I sold that first pressing for rent a few years ago but the cassette is apparently going for comparable money nowadays on Discogs. Gizzard fans are insane.

Also found a nicely priced copy of Goo during the boxing day sales, so stoked to have that to listen to while reading Moore's autobiography.

I noticed when I put mine on last night that the time between the needle drop and music starting was like, almost zero for both A and B sides. I don't know if it's a mispress or my automatic needle is a bit too far in, but it's not a bad problem.

Didn't notice any major audio issues but it was mostly background music while I was cooking so I wasn't listening super closely either.
