Could be to obscure security stuff people wouldn't be willing to destroy real chips to find out, like what percentage of chips are tagged with RFID or if there's a way to identify marked chips? Bally's probably uses similar measures in more than one casino.

Some teeth long for ripping, gleaming wet from black dog gums. So you keep your eyes closed at the end. You don't want to see such a mouth up close. before the bite, before its oblivion in the goring of your soft parts, the speckled lips will curl back in a whinny of excitement. You just know it.

hi im tony. did you know that a koala's appendix is about two meters long.
My fiance and I are going to Vegas for Memorial Day for the Dead and Company Sphere show on Friday and pro wrestling on Sunday. We're going to be staying in Planet Hollywood, mostly because it is central to everything in the strip and the Miracle Mile seems good to keep costs down. I'm going to gamble a decent amount as well.

I'm looking for recommendations on places to eat if you are doing a once in five years Vegas trip. The last time I was there was for a business convention and I stayed in the Aria. Ended up eating at the Mexican restaurant there for dinner, as well as the steak house within the Golden Nugget when I was checking out Fremont Street. I want to make this trip special for her so I'm up for anything within reason.

We like to dance so I'm looking for recommendations on promoters to get into clubs. Since we're staying in PH I figure the Cosmo may be the way to go. I'd like to do the Marquee dayclub and nightclub on that Saturday.

On the opposite end of all the high end food recommendations you're going to get, Earl of Sandwich should be your first answer when you're craving something simple and fast. Super tasty and consistent high quality, and it's not even off property from where you're staying

PH was definitely chosen for something like Earl of Sandwich. I want to keep food costs low for breakfast and lunch but I'm fine with 100pp for dinner. I'm currently looking at Best Friend, Prime Steakhouse and Mon Ami Gabi. Maybe the Strip House in PH.

Common suggestion but eat light the night before and hit up the Wynn brunch one one of the days for sure, it has a vegas vibe and I say it feels like a $400 tasting menu when done right

I was unimpressed with Best Friend but my city has a big korean population. Mon Ami Gabi I had a great meal at. Bardot, too.

I'll throw in Red Plate around that price, too.

Strip House can be summed up as "well, it's there." It has always been a me-too restaurant that likely exists so the casino can comp people for steak. I would tell you to look at Beauty & Essex at the Cosmpolitan across the bridge, or Gordon Ramsay Steak at Paris next door.
To be honest, Paris is overall a good place for food as long as you stay away from The Bedford which is tremendously expensive and not at all worth it. And I am someone who doesn't hate Martha Stewart, but Martha you gotta do better.

And as cheap lunches go, Ocean One is probably worth your time. (Still haven't done it after all these years, but it's one of the few values left on the Strip.)

My Vegas story. Took my wife there last February for her 40th birthday to see Adele.

Turns out she got hypnotised by the slot machines and came back to England and has had a secret online slots addiction for the last year and blown our house deposit, credit cards and taken out loans secretly in my name. Be careful out there kids!

That's awful to hear. I am so grateful I don't have whatever brain wiring it is that causes people to do that.

Sports betting I can get but slots? I don't see the appeal. It probably didn't help that most of the time I had no idea what was going on with some of those crazy involved slots.

Video poker is fun

Generic slot machines...yeah I don't get it.

I like slot machines because on the rare chance I get to visit a casino, the cacophony of "ding ding ding" etc. is fun for a while. Witnessing someone hit a jackpot is great.

I'm glad it's mostly other people that pay for that novelty, I guess, but I'll still drop in a few bucks for the hell of it and call it good.

DeadFatDuckFat posted:

I do enjoy sitting at a bar drinking comped alcohol and playing some video poker. Again, it's pretty rare though and not big money.

A craps table with a good vibe is probably the most fun but all that other stuff going on in the background adds to the novelty of the atmosphere to me since it's not a regular thing.

This is one of my buddies and I’s favorite things to do. They always seem to hit a big hand each trip to Vegas, I’ve never won much. But slapping the Skinner box button while being served free booze is very fun.

The alley/walkway to the ferris wheel is a good place for people watching. I think it's called something to do with the Aria? Where Ramsey's Fish + Chips is located.

Earlier this year I was hanging around the The Chandelier Bar in the Cosmo but I've struck out of luck trying to met colorful people. Drai's and Cromwell are a great place plus there is a bar directly next to the main entrance. It's small but nice, clean and central to the strip.

My next goal is try out all the lounges in the Venetian and Palazzo. :guinness:

I’ll never forget being approached on the floor of Bally’s at 4:00 AM, she caresses my sweater and says “I love your sweater, is it cashmere?” And without really thinking I said “I don’t know, my wife got it for me,” and she did the loony toons thing where she vanishes and you can see her whispy outline where she used to be

We went to Vegas last Feb to celebrate our birthdays and did a bunch of cool stuff , including renewing our vows with Elvis. When we got back her love of the Vegas slots turned into a year long online fruit machine addiction which she kept hidden from me while blowing our house deposit, credit cards and taking out loans secretly in my name. She confessed to me when I got back from a business trip about 4 weeks ago. All in all about £100k

I'd give the sahara a shot, it's normally a really nice deal if you like the (visually) darker type of casinos with a good amount of class, and even more importantly having a monorail stop on property is a great way to cut down on cab fare.

Close to the convention center you could also get a room at fontainebleau if you want to stay in an upscale hospital/mall that leased a little bit of their floorspace to slots and game tables
