What's the best way to get discounted show tickets if i don't pay table/slots? Penn and Teller specifically, but I'm also down to see Piff and a lot of other random stuff too

What's the shortest length extended stay option that gives the best bang for the buck price-wise near the strip? A week? A month? Don't need anything extravagant, even a tiny studio is fine as long as it's not in a super sketchy area E: And as a data point for anyone planning a trip, I floated around the majority of the strip getting a feel for things and doing stereotypical tourist stuff mixed in with paying poker and my watch logged 72 miles of walking, I'd say expecting 10 miles of walking a day if you want to explore feels about correct; it was mixed halfway between indoor and outdoor, and I decided to get a bus pass after a couple days Sentient Data fucked around with this message at 06:40 on Mar 8, 2023 |

Craptacular! posted:actually 24 hours Probably the largest shock I had when I first visited was how few food places on the strip were open late, let alone 24h

Any suggestions for a massage that's not a "massage"? Just a good old fashioned one with lots of pressure for tense muscles, not one of the more spa/aroma oriented ones, preferably near the strip

The ones in from of bellagio are already up and a good chunk of the sidewalk on that side is closed. The fountains are still running, seems like the best public free view is on the bridge from horseshoe to bellagio

Penn and Teller was great live, and Piff's energy and humor is amazing. The Piff show I saw with some other goons during the FFXIV Fanfest weekend started to go off the rails multiple times when some audience volunteer stuff went a little wacky, and the way he was able to get things back on track with improv jokes was both hilarious and insanely skilful

Anywhere in the tropicana special enough to be worth hitting up before they shut down? Also, anyone have an in on a group buy of their chips once they become valueless? I want to get a couple hundred paulsons for a poker set if they go cheap

I stopped by the Tropicana and grabbed a fresh player card and a $0.01 tito. They had signs up everywhere that they won't sell any chips for any reason, so no luck there. I asked if they'll be auctioning the old chips after they're canceled since I want a couple hundred for a home set, but he said they're just going to be destroyed. If anyone hears about a group buy or something like that showing up, shoot me a pm

Table games are not 24 hour and are shut down permanently on the 1st. Pit bosses watching everyone like hawks. After that there aren't any chip transactions on site but you can cash any for a couple more months at the oyo. I thought it was idiotic about the chis being destroyed after they expire, but he seemed very sure about the answer rather than just guessing. There are only a couple dozen slots clustered in the main area that are still active, the rest are out of service. 1 table of each of the standard games were up at the time, but there wasn't a good vibe and I didn't want to buy in when I didn't have a real intent to play. I went a bit after midnight since I run on an overnight schedule, but it felt less staffed than a walmart. Got a neat picture for the urban sticker thread though. The whole transience of it with the upcoming demolition feels neat to me E: you might be able to buy some trop chips from the oyo on the 2nd or 3rd if you can talk the cage into it, but I don't want a souvenir that i didn't get from the actual place, and lol at buying a poker set at face value Sentient Data fucked around with this message at 18:10 on Mar 28, 2024 |

On the opposite end of all the high end food recommendations you're going to get, Earl of Sandwich should be your first answer when you're craving something simple and fast. Super tasty and consistent high quality, and it's not even off property from where you're staying

Common suggestion but eat light the night before and hit up the Wynn brunch one one of the days for sure, it has a vegas vibe and I say it feels like a $400 tasting menu when done right

Slots are weaponized psychology, be very careful if you decide to pay with the skinner boxes

I'd give the sahara a shot, it's normally a really nice deal if you like the (visually) darker type of casinos with a good amount of class, and even more importantly having a monorail stop on property is a great way to cut down on cab fare. Close to the convention center you could also get a room at fontainebleau if you want to stay in an upscale hospital/mall that leased a little bit of their floorspace to slots and game tables

And treasure island doesn't have a pirate show any more, they must've thought it was too dangerous after what they did to the dunes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdIrnntfgqc
