Did my first Vegas trip over Memorial day. 99% video poker. Here's what I came back with... Fremont street is pretty awesome at night. You'll get raped on taxi fares but it's worth seeing on a weekend. Everything is cheaper downtown. Drinking on the strip means either tipping the cocktail waitresses 5$ and camping out next to their service bar...or put a $10 in a video poker machine, max bet, and you'll get a drink every 20 minutes. More if you tip. Staying on the strip is kinda pissing your money away. There's tons of nice casinos a couple blocks away to save $. Hard Rock, Gold Coast, Rio, Orleans, et al. Room rates went WAY down Sunday-Thursday. Take the public bus if you can stand the heat. It's so much cheaper than Taxis and Monorail. Lots of hotels do free shuttles too.

luminalflux posted:What I'm asking is: how much of a pain is it going to be to get between MGM or Paris and Caesar's each morning/afternoon? They're within walking distance if you can tolerate the insane heat. Going from Paris to Ceaser's would be alot easier than MGM. Bill's is right there too and typically alot cheaper, but nowhere near as nice as Paris. quote:Edit: I've never really gambled either, should I start playing online poker to figure out how to play Texas Hold'Em or just not play poker at all while there? You can show up around 10am at most casinos to learn to play poker 'n craps. quote:Will I suffer heatstroke and die if I try to play (golf) in August? Most definitely
