Which place has better rooms and breakfast? Both have nice rooms. It will be a bit of a pain because the monorail is on the MGM side of the street and it drops off on the back side of the casino so you'll have to walk through the Flamingo and over Las Vegas Blvd. Maybe look to find a place closer. Try Mirage, TI, Harrahs, Flamingo, etc. luminalflux posted:Edit: I've never really gambled either, should I start playing online poker to figure out how to play Texas Hold'Em or just not play poker at all while there? There are plenty of low limit tables there. Look for $2/$4 limit hold-em. Plays a bit different than no-limit hold em but the concept is the same. If you're halfway decent, but not great (like me) it basically becomes a REALLY fun way to kill time playing all while drinking on the Casino's dime. Nearly every time I play low limit poker I walk away somewhere between down $50 and up $50 and I've sat at the tables for 4 hours and drank free booze the entire time! Blackjack is probably easier, just print out the strategy table online, memorize it, and follow it to a T. luminalflux posted:Edit2: Recommend me some good microbrew bars since I'm sortof a beer nut and not totally into getting sloshed on bad beer or rum&coke-type drinks. A bit off the strip, but next to Hard Rock Casino which is awesome - http://www.hofbrauhauslasvegas.com/ I think this is one of the better brewpubs in the casinos - http://www.montecarlo.com/restaurants/the-pub.aspx luminalflux posted:Fake edit: If I want to play golf but my handicap is 36 (just started playing really) are there any good courses around to play at where I won't get laughed at for being a sortof beginner? Will I suffer heatstroke and die if I try to play in August? I'm from Sweden so definitely not used to desert heat but man I love me some golf. Sorry, I don't play golf. It will be loving hot, but it's a dry heat. :-P
