Tuxedo Jack posted:6. I have a huge interest in the Sinatra/Rat Pack/Louis Prima days of Vegas, and was looking for clubs/bars/restaurants that exude that flavor, though google and all of my research is somewhat failing me in this category. Any ideas? Unfortunately, classic Vegas is mostly gone. The best you can do is go downtown and Fremont Street. Not the covered part, but if you keep going along Fremont to the east you'll find basically all the classic googie architecture that's left in the city. The casinos downtown don't feel as corporate as the strip, and it's generally seedier. If you're looking for the Sinatra making it rain and tuxes kind of stuff, I don't know that it still exists in any way.

That area you're considering walking is mid-level shadiness in Vegas. Not as bad as north Vegas but not the nice part of the city. And you're going to be miserable because there's loving nothing to see there, I wouldn't bother. Just take a bus, you'll get to experience the horrible public transit most of the US has! Vegas is not a walking city at all outside the Strip/Fremont downtown area. There are literally big concrete walls surrounding most neighborhoods. Don't bother. If you want to go for a hike head to Red Rock.

Did you check the day for P&T? I know either Monday or Tuesday is their day off, but can't remember which.

revmoo posted:How far from LV is meteor crater? It's a several hour drive. Northern Arizona's beautiful though, if you have the time it's a good few days. Drive out to Holbrook, see Meteor Crater, the Petrified Forest and the Painted Desert over the course of a day. Stop at the Grand Canyon on the way back. The good nature that's close to Vegas is Red Rock Canyon, the Grand Canyon, and Zion. Arches and Bryce Canyon aren't too much further. Everything in southern Utah is spectacular.

global tetrahedron posted:You would be doing yourself a major injustice if you didn't see the Grand Canyon, all I'm saying. Yeah, it's right next door and one of the most spectacular natural features on the planet. There's no reason not to at least take a day trip out to it.
