Ahaha, way to pick the tune of the album. Incidentally, I first heard Friedrichstrasse, and indeed most of the tunes I've loved this year, on a little podcast called Soulsearching. http://www.milkaudio.com/web/radio_soulsearching.php It's presented by a genial frankfurter called Michael Ruetten with a calm german voice and an absolutely impeccable taste in music - with absolutely zero regard for genre. He's opened me up to a wider world of music than anything else I've heard. Have a listen.

Got pointed to something wonderful by Oneman's blog today... New piece, Ultra Thizz by Rustie. Is this not the greatest thing to happen to halfstep this year? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8C1RmVJ1xE&feature=player_embedded I think so.

This is great! I've been a Sparrow fan for a while, particularly Circadian (and the track Loveless - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ep86ahdvk6E), so it's great to see him getting more hectic.

Need some knowledge, guys! I'm pretty sure this tune came up earlier in the thread but I just can't find it. Who can recognise the track that comes in at 00:10 of this fantastic Oneman vid? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s79sCihyRgQ&feature=player_embedded Yes, the part where he breaks into double gun fingers.

I don't think this has appeared yet... if you fancy a bit of reading with your bass - indeed, if you want someone who goes even deeper than Clark in his analysis - you could do worse than a bit of Rouge's Foam: http://rougesfoam.blogspot.com/ Download the podcast of his Night Slugs article when you have a spare hour. Fascinating.

Appropriate title. I'm loving the music (mainly through watching vids, but I jumped out of my seat when I saw B&W2 coming; the tracks are real step on). The thing is, I'm desperate to see a footwork scene come to London. I imagine it'll only really kick off if Rashad comes down or something... has anyone heard of anything coming? Or do we have to try and start it? Maguro posted:More amazing music I love you.

28 Gun Bad Boy posted:Of course I could be very wrong and for all I know at this very minute there is a vast network of underground footwork competitions in the east end of London with kids going mental over it. Doubt it though. Oh, I wish. I think the consensus we came away with from the other page is that it can't be enjoyed in a non-IDM way without understanding the footwork context. So even if Paradinas can get the music to come over, he need to bring the scene too. This means dancers. I'd love it to happen, but that's a big leap to take. Also, have a look at the footwork vids online - they all take place in lovely warehouses. Do we have any of those in London that are still free?

Love Jack Sparrow, and his and Ruckspin's involvement in Submotion Orchestra is all to the good. Must remember to buy that album once I get paid. Also, has everyone given Pushing The Scene a watch? An interesting Anthropological paper - in video documentary form - about material culture and the economics of dubstep. Probably not anything you've not noticed before, but it's interesting to hear it come from the mouths of Oneman and the like. http://vimeo.com/32192229

As much as I love the guy, I was just starting to wonder if he was ploughing a furrow with Street Halo, even down to the name. (funny though, isn't it - we let lots of other artists perfect a schtick and resell it, but poor Burial's been given the responsibility of giving us more, pushing the scene every time...) Kindred has delivered, as far as I'm concerned.

You know how Night Slugs' output has become really tame lately? (it hasn't) Apparently they're launching a harder, more club-ready spin-off, Club Constructions. Cop the first EP from L-Vis here: http://www.redeyerecords.co.uk/asp/view_product.asp?id=29909 I like...
