The best track on that Paleface mix is (as usual) a Sticky track. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgXX000FwOY Can hear the beginnings of some of his Funky productions here too.

So Royal-T did a FACT Mix and I think it's pretty good: http://www.factmag.com/2011/06/24/fact-mix-259-royal-t/ Also, there's a Butterz release coming out with Swindle and Silkie working together, should be an interesting mix. EDIT: Also, looks like there's a new Toddla T EP or something coming out on Ninja Tune sometime soon? EDIT 2: Also, speaking of bassline, here's a good remix of Orangeade that's on that Royal-T mix: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=krD32Is9hV4 Mike_V fucked around with this message at 18:00 on Jun 24, 2011 |

Django posted:New[?] D Double E and Dizzee Rascal went out on Westwood's show last night. Featuring the standard Westwood hijinx, but song's alright. "Connected to more gangs than Ross Kemp" is a great line Nice to see S-X getting his riddim used on a track that could blow up. EDIT: Is this the first thing D Double's done since the Generals' Bag of Grease EP and first solo thing since Woo Riddim/Street Fighter? VIP cut from DOK's latest EP on Hyperdub. I've always liked him: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agx7HsmQC2Y&feature=related Also, it appears Griminal has a mixtape coming out soon, but who knows with him.

The new NGUZUNGUZU (or however it's spelled) EP is out and it's alright. There's potential there, but it's still a little rough around the edges. It is nice to see their label (Fade To Mind) trying to bring the Night Slugs sound stateside, though.

The new Jam City EP is really good. Some deep vibes going on. Does anyone know when the Trim release on Butterz is coming out?

Haha, Jammer is going in on Skepta without saying it overtly on JJ's show. EDIT: Or maybe not, but the way he was describing making pop hits then releasing a grime album for free certainly sounded like he was talking about Skepta.

Finally got around to listening to Roska's Rinse mix and it's good. But wow, that Marco Del Horno track is great! Can't believe I hadn't heard it before: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1To-rsztCg

N-Type is releasing some 2 CD/double vinyl dubstep teng with one of the discs being unreleased dubplates from some nice artists and the other one being something I forgot since I first heard the ad on Rinse today. Sounds like it'll be a Youngsta type, rather than N-Type's Rinse mix.

Nice look on that UKG mix. I've checked out most of the first CD of the Wheel N Deal Dubstep Vol. 1 and most of the dubplates are really nice. Coki's, however, is bad (save for some interesting stuff going on int he background which is drowned out by farting engine noises). I wasn't really into N-Type's Rinse mix, but I think this selection is a lot better.

I just want to re-iterate how enjoyable the Wheel and Deal comp. is. Really hammers the point home how much I love appropriately used movie samples in dubstep tracks. Largin up N-Type big time on this effort.

Trim has his Butterz release on the 15th, so there's that to look forward to. Does L-Vis have his LP coming out this month too? Ben UFO's Rinse mix out in September, also.

I'm not sure if it's Royal-T who does the tracks, but Elijah and Skilliam have been playing some tunes that are on a definite bassline flex lately and I can't help but hope we see a revival. Also Terror Danjah just had a new EP come out on Harddrive that's nice. I'm also late to this, but S-X's 5000 Followers EP is great, although he seems to be taking a lot of rap influence on his beats (not that that's a bad thing). I hadn't heard anything about him really until a couple months ago and now he's all over.
