I'm an uber guitar noob living in Fresno, CA, who really only knows finger warm-up exercises. I'm hoping to learn how to play electric guitar without using tabs, relying by ear as much as possible. I have little to no music theory knowledge as well, and reading the music theory page posted in the beginner thread by myself makes me feel overwhelmed, so I'd really like someone to help me in person. I want to play as a metal guitarist, specifically subgenres such as prog metal, post metal, and avant-garde metal... yes, really.
