Haha, I thought it did okay to provide context, but now that's all I see. Always good to get another perspective...

And yes, this was a lot of fun to shoot. Plenty of opportunities to get close to the action, too.

Like in that one shot you posted if you pretend the people at the bottom are cropped out, it looks better because you got that huge line of people on the background hill spectating. True. I just liked the idea of it, you know? And didn't want to trash it, I suppose. Should've planned it better at the time, but I was actually just passing by that spot and didn't stick around to photograph it properly, just long enough to snap a couple of photos.

But yeah, there's no saving it now in post, even with extreme crops.
