This show has more "gently caress yes! *fist pump*" moments per minute than any show in the history of television. This scene epitomizes Toby, Josh and POTUS at their best: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zj1OsTLyBgg *I can't find a decent clip of the end of the pilot, but it loving rules. And probably the most apt scene for much of American politics: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4jryX_DGUQ I just love the way he says "can I burn my mother at a small family gathering..." maniacripper fucked around with this message at 07:10 on Jul 7, 2011 |

Ash Lael posted:I love West Wing, but hate this scene so much. I like it for the way it sums up the characters involved. CJ is trying to make nice, Josh wants it to blow over because he knows it's a worthless thing and Toby can't turn down a fight. Then the president comes in, says 5 dollars is too much for porno, then calls the fundies on their bullshit, and tells them to gtfo. Perfect.

Another thing I noticed when I watched this show was the way everyone always said, "okay...". They made a thing about it, was it ever mentioned by Sorkin or is it just one of those things?

McNally posted:No, I'm just saying that Sorkin probably had Michael J. Fox in mind. There's an alternate universe where Michael J. Fox doesn't have Parkinsons and is on President Barlett's staff.

jeffersonlives posted:It's from The Stormy Present in season 5, which was one of the more interesting episodes of that season. Toby's little quips kill the entire 8 seasons. "I feel like I'm on voyage of the damned". Or during the pilot when it's him, Josh and CJ with the religious nutjobs and they say something snide about "NY types" and he's like, "they mean us Josh". Richard Schiff was brilliant as Toby, such a amazing character.

Ur Getting Fatter posted:I'm finishing up season 1, but I can't decide whether I love or hate how much they say the word "OK" in this show. ....ok. I noticed that too. It's such a nice thing though. There's no bitching or complaining, if someone needs something from someone the response is just a quick "Alright got it". People should do that more in real life.

FISHMANPET posted:We can probably just talk about it here until there's something more than a short trailer, since without more on the show we're just talking about Sorkin. Looking forward to every single rightwing blog, radio show, website and voter tears when this thing gets going.
