It's been there for a while, though, since 5.0, perhaps; still handy for when something insists on closing Safari for no reason (hello, Office Updater...). It was in the software update notes for Safari 5.1. I just saw the same thing today. My guess is they forgot to mention it's Lion-only functionality.
