will there ever be a way to jump from leopard to lion or is SL always going to be a required step? I've googled around and there's no good info on what will happen down the road. Will the thumb drive edition allow for direct upgrades?

I want to upgrade but I'm not in a huge rush, and find it kind of annoying having to buy an OS I will not use.
