Unless I'm blind, I didn't see the RAM recommendation for the current (mid-2011) 21.5 iMac in the OP? I want to put 16 gigs of RAM into it (or just 8 if it's horribly expensive). All I could find was Crucial's RAM calculator. How many slots does the 21.5 iMac have?

I'm upgrading and am going to sell my old iMac. What would be a good price to sell it for? It's the current-gen iMac, only thing different is that I tripled the RAM (to 12GB). The computer is less than a year old, and I still have the box, documentation, etc. I wanted to sell it before Apple updates and the value drops. Specs: 21.5-inch: 2.5GHz 2.5GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 1920 x 1080 resolution 4GB (two 2GB) memory [+ 2x4GB = 12GB] 500GB hard drive AMD Radeon HD 6750M with 512MB

Is it possible to swap drives on the new iMac (to a SSD)? Is the servicing difficult? The iFixit didn't look too bad but I've never done something like that (although I've replaced fans on old MBPs and built windows machines).

Is it possible to put a Sandisk SSD into a Mac Mini? And is there a chart of the performance difference between the two Minis? The dual i5 vs quad i7. I don't know if the $200 is worth the performance or not.

Totally speculative, but is the consensus that Apple will do retina on larger screens as well, like on the iMacs? I'm not talking about this next generation or even the generation after that, but would it be reasonable to presume that's the direction the desktops will head as well, once retina manufacturing improves?

Has anyone used the Apple router (Airport extreme)? My Linksys WRT54G is years old and doesn't even have N, and I'm thinking of upgrading. Are there any advantages to the Apple routers? I also live in the middle of a city with probably 100 other networks around, so interference is a concern--does the Airport handle it better or anything? Is this the best kit for adding a second drive to a Mac Mini? Does the "fusion" drive then work through software in OSX and give the same performance, or is it hardware-dependent?

I have a Sandisk 240 SSD in a (new) Mac Mini. I just wasn't sure if I needed the drive mounting brackets or just the cable (I have the tools). Disk Utility recognizes the two drives for fusion or is it a 3rd party hack? Does OSX do a fine job of managing the fusion drive itself, or is it better to have two separate drives?

The extra CPU power can seriously cut time on a 3D render, video encode, or something like special effects generation. It's not about power, it's about saving time. An i7 or whatever can do it just fine, but multiple Xeons could (depending on specs etc) save a lot in the long run. Think if Xeons could render 20% faster, and what that would mean on something with hundreds of hours of rendering over the life of a project. The Air has an HD4000 in it. I don't know how WoW/TF2 performance is, but CS:GO runs at 1080p with about 40fps (low settings) and Diablo 3 gets about 20 (low settings).

I never had problems with OSX ports but I guess it depends on the game. Some ports basically emulate some windows libraries to get them to run, but in my experience, any of the big Steam titles are fine. Starcraft/Diablo/Source games/Civ5, all perfect. You might see problems with using a 3rd party program like CrossOver though.
