This thread made me curl up in my chair and tremble for a little bit because I tried to fathom being $56,000 in debt with your paycheck, OP. And I thought we were in awful shape when we were $16k in. I mean, we were. But good. god. Does your office know about this debt? Because god, if you were US military I'd imagine you'd be in for all sorts of councilings and poo poo.

They as a couple may not exist after 3 months in basic (and/or whatever extra school time she's got going on) and her getting moved 2000 miles away so it's possibly pointless. Unless they're getting married as soon as she's through basic, in which case, I wonder if they've thought about military moving expenses. Because they don't pay for everything, don't reimburse you for everything, and if you're going overseas (does Canada have overseas stations?), you might be in a hotel a hell of a lot longer than you assume.

Because bluntly, even if you two are devoted right now, a year or more apart and who knows what will happen. As far as direct advice, be tough as nails, never use the words 'I miss you' (because I guarantee that they are in a worse place than you are and she will want to be home way, way more), don't whine bitch or complain, deal with your poo poo and only call her into it unless it's necessary.. which doesn't mean don't include her, but if you have a flat tire and she's being shot at, well, y'know?, and get used to time apart. When she's a bazillion miles away, you can't just up and do that. And that's what will break your rear end if you don't talk about it now. Well, that and the "Oh, the news is reporting that a bunch of people died at the base she's at? And I have go about my day like it's nothing?" mindfuck stuff. tuyop posted:Just didn't happen this time. Toeshoes has been angry about our lack of eating and working surface for months, so she gave me some time to find something on kijiji. That didn't work so we bought the stuff from Ikea. Why did you guys go to Ikea rather than a thrift store or a walmart or whatever? And surely there's rummage sales up there. E: I'm not saying not to have bought something to eat off of and work on, either, but I'm under the impression that Ikea is a lot of money for the brand name.

tuyop posted:Guys, I'm really not in a manic phase right now. You're talking about composting your poo poo, man. And while I believe you mentioned something briefly about a septic problem, this is a terrible idea and you're practically waltzing with your shitbucket. You may not think you're manic, or hey, there's even a chance you really aren't manic right now, but drat dude. You sound it.
