Anyway, moving on from JMan talk, as of right now the tracker shows $45,780.70 in total donations, and that isn't counting any TheYetee shirts sold between their $2,500 donation and now, as well as any e-check donations. That's a pretty solid mark for the smaller marathon.

How much has been made from these in the past?

This marathon got me all hyped up to speedrun a game of my own, then I realized I'm not good at games that you can speedrun and the ones I'm okay at someone has done with much, much higher quality then I could do :v:.

If you want a behind the scenes look at AGDQ (read: awkward interviews, blurry tv's, and hot hot razor scooter action) check out pie's archive here. I really hope someone does make a thread for this year's marathon... it's definitely going to be ridiculously hype and I love seeing new posters in the dedicated threads. Tomorrow's filled with awesome runs (including my mischief makers run :madmax:) so make sure you watch. See you guys tomorrow!

Good luck peaches__. PLAY FAST :911:

Why not make the donations a ticker on the bottom of the screen? That way the commentators can do their stuff without having to worry about getting talked over.

For a lot of people having their comments read is a big deal. Golden for example has a distinct voice and people were giving him donations just to read their comment because of his voice. The ticker removes the personal feel of the marathon. It might be viable for the smaller donations that are just kinda silly to go through while bigger donations or those with personal messages about their uncle Mike Hunt with anal cancer can go through and be read.

I would watch the hell out of this. It's already designed so that moving in the right way lets you dodge nearly every enemy bullet, so a speedrun would probably be fluid as hell and fun to watch.

Do you aim for the better ending, or just completion?

Uh, is there a Stranger's Wrath ending I don't know about besides Freedom?

It's a really fun speedrun for the sake of just avoiding dudes by running by them. There's also some neat skips that are coming in and I'm trying to learn any% right now, which cuts out all of Buzzarton and the Mongo Valley River bosses (Xplosives is still in but honestly I've made his level pretty trivial).

I'm gonna make an effort to round up some of the Stranger's Wrath runners and get some stuff going. There's a kick rear end dude named COEL625 who is REALLY GOOD at the game. Seriously the jump at 0:32 blows my mind because that is insanely difficult.

Studio

I got sub 1:40 in Stranger's Wrath after incorporating a bunch of new strats. It was a bitchin' run too because the dudes who made the port at Just Add Water started watching and commentating. It started out with being impressed then disbelief at some of the skips that are in the game now. I have been promised if they patch those change they'll put a sign back at the beginning that you could use to skip the first town in about 10 seconds.

Also learning any% but god drat the skips are harder.

I'm thinking about picking up another game. Stranger's Wrath is fun but now that the XBox tricks have started to come over most of the game is kind of... fleshed out. I still want to run it, but want to do more fiddling. I wonder if Red Dead Revolver would be a good run. Also thinking of Within A Deep Forest but my god that is a precise and frustrating game.

So, I found this a little while ago. It seems there's already a few runs of it on SDA (well, considering the developers names, I'm sure this was their goal), but it seems to have been dropped immediately after it came out. I've played through it again, and it's actually quite fun. Perhaps it's time to rejuvenate the runs for it a bit?

Do what feels good :choco:. It does look very cool though. Also reminds me that when Dejobaan releases Drunken Robot Pornography in like 20 years, it will be a pretty cool game to speedrun.

I think he might still focus on any%. He knows he can cut 45. Jesus though, Kalemandu is such a fun runner to watch. You can tell he really cares about getting good times and just gets so tense that the drama is amazing and terrifying. for urns on his stream everyday.

I don't mind double Final Fantasy since it only adds up to 8 hours, which compared other Final Fantasies is a lot more manageable. Binding of Isaac also seems to be off the schedule entirely, which is nice considering that it probably shouldn't have been there in the first place. I think Pilotwings 64 might make it back in though, based off chatter.

Edit: Klonoa 2 I'm sad to see go, but then again everytime I watch it I'm not sure why I'm watching it and it's usually not that exciting, just wandering around and turning enemies into orbs. Then board levels.
