I've made a huge mistake.
I have four plugs; no script, ublock origin, firefox translation and webex. Disabled the latter two and it now seems ok. I'll try translation again and hope it was webex...

My url bar dropdown doesn't appear since the update, I presume that something in my userchrome is killing it.

Has anyone run into this issue and fixed it?

VVV thanks! I should have thought of that.

Do you use CustomCSSforFx by chance? If so, update it!

https://github.com/Aris-t2/CustomCSSforFx/releases/tag/4.5.0

The mega bar whatever url portion saw some tweaks/fixes. This might be your issue.

It looks to be a collection of different CSS style changes that you enable piecemeal, so everybody's experience will be different.

I gotta admit that I'm not fully satisfied with FF125 and the CSS tweaks that I've managed to get working so far, so feel free to make fun of it.

(The tab bar seems cramped, I can't get rid of the stupid bookmark star, dragging tabs is too easy, ...)

Does Firefox on Android have proper support for passkeys yet?

Not really. From what I can see, it can read passkeys stored in the Google Password Manager and pass those along for login, but you can't create keys using Firefox. You used to be able to but it was broken in Firefox 119. There is a workaround about :config entry you can create in the beta/nightly versions:

Cheers, I'll take a look. I use Bitwarden which only got website-only passkey support on Android a few days ago. Passkeys will be great once the early adopter phase passes though.

I regularly use 3+ computers, and I was musing switching to a portable version of firefox.
I see that it's not an official Mozilla product, is there any downsides that I should be aware of before I go to the effort of setting it up?

What are you trying to achieve with a portable version? If you just want tab sync and stuff that is baked in already.

I do use Mozilla Sync, it's more that it doesn't sync userchrome, about:config, and addons internal config.

Almost seems like using something like SyncThing or Dropbox would be a better solution if you need such things syncing.

drat, I feel dumb. I was on youtube and thinking, wouldn't it be great if I could make a shortcut to change the size of the video player. I use Enhancer for Youtube and went to see if I could set a hotkey for it.

Turns out, if you go to about:addons and click on the little gear icon, the option for "Manage Extension Shortcuts" gives you a list of all your extensions and all the hotkeys and shortcuts for each and every one that supports them.

And - here's the important bit - the ability to change them to a new hotkey.

Just how did I never notice that option before?

e: Okay, I'm pretty sure I have literally only ever clicked the gear icon to select "check for updates", so that's probably it.

I used to deal with it by doing bookmark all and close all tabs every couple of years. But last year i switched to Chrome. It doesn't have that problem, because it sucks at dealing with many tabs.

I posted this earlier, but think it's worth mentioning again:
SingleFile will let you configure the add-on to save a copy of a webpage as a single file when you bookmark it, and optionally it can also rewrite bookmarks to point to that file if it's hosted on WebDAV or web-accessible object storage with the original URI saved in the meta-data.

I no longer have too many tabs, just a bunch of old bookmarks that I'm slowly working my way through.

I simply read the webpage when I open it then close it when I'm done.

Is there any add-on or way on Firefox to see Twitter embeds on these forums on the desktop version? it works fine on mobile, but it's annoying to see the link and have to click it, open up twitter, and see it on there rather than just here

Enhanced Tracking Protection is blocking it. Disable that for SomethingAwful and it will start to appear.

Just click the shield icon in the url bar while on SA and turn off the Enhanced Tracking Protection for here, like Quackles said.

It would take effect on newly loaded pages. If it doesn't, any third party privacy add-ons could still be blocking them.

I think there is also a forums side option to enable embeds.

SgtSteel91

Yep, there was a DuckDuckGo extension that was blocking tracking from Twitter on SA Forums. Disabling that along with turning off Enhanced Tracking Protection fixed it

I've been having the same problem. Disabling Privacy Badger for SA seemed to do the trick and reenable Twitter embeds for me.
