What's the go-to SwiftTabs replacement these days? I want something to bind F1 and F2 to change tabs, and the only addon I've found wanted "a single key" as in the dude only coded it to take one character for some reason.

What's the best right click image search extension? To be on the safe side, I tossed out a bunch of extensions after YouTube Unblocker went evil and I need a nice right click image search extension.

I thought it would be simple, but there are a tonne of extensions on Mozilla's site, most of which have "google image search" as a title and they range from the useless to the 'handy and well put together, but also searches hentai and cartoon pony porn databases'. Literally. I'm not kidding here.
Well, what if what you're looking for just happens to only be hosted on crazyponyshowtimefunspecial dot com? :colbert:

(oh my god I hope that's not real)

I just reinstalled Windows and started a clean Firefox profile, and uBlock Origin is... different. It's like more compact now? I open it from the toolbar icon and no longer see the giant list of exactly what's being blocked or allowed with numbers and lots of red and green.

Is there a way I can get that display back? I need to specifically diagnose some specific element blocks.

Go to the settings menu for Ublock, and check off "I am an advanced user," I think that'll enable the blocked/allowed list
Checked that box, it did open up a settings menu if I click the little gears next to it, but it didn't make the change automatically. Is there a specific phrase to type in advanced settings?

edit: To make it clearer, there's something like what I'm used to - maybe I had an old version? The thing I had was probably literally ten times larger and each specific row would be colored to indicate a thing, rather than this tiny font and condensed cells.

edit2: Apparently I am an idiot, or else uMatrix stole the UI wholesale, but I bet I just had that and was a moron all along. I will stick with UO!

Well that explains... some of it. How I got them confused I'll never know. And why does the dude have two separate addons?

When a tab finishes loading there's this little blue left-to-right pulse on it on the tab bar, as though it's telling me that it's finished loading. How do I turn that off? I would google it but I don't even know what a feature like that is called, since it's not an actual progress bar.

Worked like a charm. Thanks!

(I'm still missing some functionality but I'm sure something "like" Tab Mix Plus will exist soon - or even already does because I haven't looked yet - so I'll survive.)

I can't play Twitter's embedded videos anymore. uBlock Origin probably didn't mysteriously start blocking them the instant I upgraded, is this a Flash-related thing? I don't know anything about anything :shobon:

Firefox Tracking Protection is known for ballsing those up and can be used outside of Private Browsing now. I'd check that, then if it's still a problem, turn on Advanced Mode in uBO and check the per-server block status from the address bar icon.
It was set to "only during Private Browsing", but turning it off made no difference. Turned off uBO altogether for that page and that didn't fix it, and the only servers it's blocking when it's on are google-analytics and tellapart.

If anyone is looking for a browser extension that does essentially the same thing as youtube-dl for YouTube then YouTube Video and Audio Downloader (WebEx) is what you're looking for. I would use youtube-dl otherwise but having something with the same functionality that works in Firefox itself is too useful to pass up.

Granted it's only built to work on YouTube but that's about all that I'd need a video downloader for anyway.
For a middle option, there's a youtube-dl GUI that I love. Slightly easier and with all the power.

New Tab Override isn't working to override my new tab to be about:blank rather than my homepage anymore. Is there anything else that does do that?

How do I get rid of the "use this search engine" suggestions that pop up when I type in the address bar without getting rid of them in the separate search bar? I'm an old fart and I don't want poo poo popping up when I type in the address bar, because if I'm typing there, I know exactly what I want.

You are amazing! Thank you.

...also lmao it now pulls up a like, two pixel thin line where nothing is displayed, which does not bother me but is really funny.

I have a really specific muscle memory of hitting f6-tab to get to the search bar. That seems to have broken with the latest update when I'm not at 100% zoom or on a page that can be viewed in "mobile mode" or whatever they call it.

Can I uh, make tab not select those things? Or is there a better shortcut I should learn?

Sometimes when I copy things elsewhere then try to paste into Firefox, it pastes the previous thing from my clipboard instead. One, how the hell does that even happen, but two, can that get fixed?

It could extremely easily happen if you just gently caress up hitting copy the second time.
Guaranteed it's not this - after the first two times I saw it happen I waited for a third and then immediately opened notepad and pasted the correct thing successfully in there, so I can confirm that it's actually incorrectly reporting the clipboard contents... but yeah, my first thought was operator error on the keyboard end, heh.

I'll take a poke at the Windows history settings once I'm back at my desk and see if it's on (I did not turn it on consciously but we all know how settings are) and see what I can see.
