Forecast for Chicago is rain, turning Douglas park into a mud pit.

I will be knee deep in the brown.

I want to hear Nan so bad.

Weather was awesome! The boys killed it on Friday. They played Dancing in the Show tonight, a first for 2016.

There is a time and a place for the brown sound.

That time is not when I'm cooking dinner with my girlfriend. That is White Pepper or Quebec time.

Me finishing off the last of the :420: and going in for a hit of resin is most definitely 100% certifiably brown.

My friends kicked their lead singer out of their band a month before our high school Battle of the Bands and they came to me and said "We want you to sing this:"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBlI2GPcn70

That was 2003 and I haven't looked back.

We won Battle of the Bands that year.

We played Pork Roll Egg & Cheese the next year and won that too.

That's how I found the Ween.

12GCC is the only Ween album my mom will tolerate but I don't think she's paid close enough attention to Piss Up a Rope or Japanese Cowboy.

Cover it With Gas and Set it on Fire
Friends
Shamemaker
Spirit Walker
Boy's Club
Spinal Meningitis (liked it when it came out, skip it these days)
The extra tracks on the God Ween Satan Anniversary Edition

Good lord dude all those song are so much fun.

Do you hate fun?

My friends and I wanted to do an acapella Ween cover band called Boys Club.

Two Chicago shows! Mere blocks from my apartment!

Of course it's the weekend I'm out of state for a wedding.

Growing up sucks, so I bought my buddy a ticket.

God drat you guys weren't kidding. This is on par with the live recording at Cat's Cradle. Some good poo poo. Lot of energy. You can tell this is 9/12/2001 or whatever because the boys are putting so much energy into this show.

For my birthday (today) my girlfriend bought me Pure Guava on vinyl.

She also rearranged our itinerary for a wedding in March. She also got me two tickets to see Ween at the Aragon in Chicago. It's like 3 blocks from my house so it will be loving awesome. I get to see the boys twice in less than 6 months.

I simply adore the Aragon Ballroom and haven't been there since I saw Muse in 2005.

Going to see Ween coverband The Pod tomorrow night. Apparently Deaner has played guitar with them at a few shows, so I guess they are legit. Either way it will be a good primer for my girlfriend who only knows a few Ween songs.

Then she will be blown away when we see the boys in March.

Every christmas I invite my buddies over and we put on 12 Golden Country Greats. This has been happening for like 6 years running at this point.

And every time my mom turns up and says "Who is this band this is good?"

And every time we call yell "It's WEEN!"

Kinda bummed that there isn't any Midwest shows (wisconsin) ah well Chicago should hold me over for a while. Just over two weeks! First time going to Aragon Ballroom, anything I should know?

It's gorgeous, the line will be long.

Also come hang out with me! I live like .5 miles from the venue. My friends and I are meeting at my apartment to crush some beers and walk on down to the show,

I'm one week away from seeing Ween live at the Aragon Ballroom! Gonna get a good buzz and walk on down as I only live a mile from there. Have like 5 friends meeting at my place for the pre-show party.

So happy I get to see them twice in 6 months.

Ween tonight! Live, in Chicago! Bringing my girlfriend with, she finally gets to experience Ween in a scenario that isn't my buddies getting drunk around a fire and singing 12 Golden Country Greats.

Edit: We call our drunk covers "Boy's Club"

Double Post Show Summary:

Gener was a bit off but totally silly about it. Your Party fell apart because he missed his cue to start the verse, couldn't finish it, and jumped straight the chorus and then the wrong verse. Deaner had to call the song off. They all laughed and talked it over for 2 minutes and then came back to kill it.

They band was totally in the jam mood though. They did a 14 minute version of King Billy that was insane.i guess it was the first time playing that live. Mutilated Lips was my favorite, they gave it their all.

We also got to hear a beautiful version of Boys Club. They really got the acapella down.

Buckingham Green totally rocked. Melted my face off, as always.

How lucky were we, got a hideous presentation of Stallion Part 1, total brown. My girlfriend was less than enthused. It was awesome.

The Mollusk was beautiful, hit the disco globe right when Glen was going nuts. Made it look we were underwater.

Half Acre Brewery just released a Ween inspired collaboration with Short's that's a Guava infused beer.

It's called Freedom of 78 and it is quite delicious and prickly.

I paid half as much to see Primus and Ween last summer, with Les coming out to play. Then again I don't live in Aussieland so I'm not sure how often you get to see shows that you like.

She was alluding to some huge fight with Aaron and how she knew he was no good (heavily hinting at his drug use) and something about him loving poo poo up for Mickey.

Yeah as badass as seeing them at Redrocks would be, I've got enough expenses this summer. Just paid off a vacation for the fall and now we've got to get the lady a new car.
