A documentary about shoegazing/dream pop called Beautiful Noise has been in production for a looong time, but it finally has a trailer:

It seems interesting since it is mainly interviews and the whole genre is still a bit obscure. I have looked forward to it for ages and can't wait for its completion.

This is now all but ready for release since they reached their Kickstarter goal for legal and licensing costs :)

Wow, that's great news! I saw their Kickstarter and thought it was no way they were going to reach it.

Belong's Common Era is fantastic. Probably my most listened to album in 2012.

I love belong to bits. Have you listened to their ambient record October Language yet?

I have meant to give it a proper listen for a long time but I just haven't gotten around to it. I will do it very soon now that you mention it. Just have to listen to m b v a few more times first.

They are a great band. The shoegaze scene in Japan is actually highly recommended to check out, there is some good stuff. 'Total Feedback' is a compilation I have listened to a lot.

The documentary on Creation Records, which obviously has a lot of stuff about/from Jesus and Mary Chain and My Bloody Valentine, is on Netflix. It's called Upside Down. Trigger warning: Oasis were also on Creation, in case you forgot (I actually did).

Also, Ringo Deathstarr is a fantastic band:

Ringo Deathstarr is one of my favorite bands.

Best song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LxyYPlv4RVs

Also good, but the video is just hilarious: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQ187y5sH3E

All those albums are essential in this genre. Though I think Drop Nineteens 'Delaware' and loveliescrushing 'Bloweyelashwish' are too.

I think Drop Nineteens' album Delaware is part of the essential shoegaze catalog. Their song and the video for it, Winona, is one of my favorite songs. The riff is just amazing.

yeah that's a great song. I haven't been able to track down their 2nd album though, is that any good?

I think some tracks from Lantlos new album have a great shoegazy feel, especially Jade Fields. I can't stop listening

Their whole discography is readily available on Spotify, with the EPs.

Very dark synth, I love it.

Anyway, LSD and the search for God plays here this week, are they good live? I loved their first release to death but their album is very psyche...

I would totally go for if I were you. I heard they are awesome live.

They really really were great live. Though the club was very small (100 people tops) it sounded very intense and clear. I was unsure at first since I though it would be really psychedelic but it wasn't at all, since their new album is kinda psyche-ish.

Well, to me what's more surprising is that it's good after all of Halstead's stuff after the first Mojave 3 album was really really bad. That AOR solo stuff he did, especially.

AOR? I liked Mojave 3 a great deal. It's far from Slowdive's music, though.
