At least it's finally over, so just maybe read next month's "Survival: Here's some teaser pages for the next relaunch" and finally get back to reading about Miles.

Man, seeing a teen team having no idea what to do is fun, but everything else in the comic's pretty bad. I think i'll give it an issue but i'm pretty sure i'll just drop it.

So everything's back to the Ultimate Universe Status Quo of ignore everything that isn't Bendis' Ultimate Spider-man.

The best joke was Miles realizing Ganke's right that Dagger is hot. David draws the best faces.

Pretty fun, but next issue should have stuff really happening. Ganke tells us that you gotta be man enough to admit Peter Parker has a great rear end.

I don't know what would break my heart harder, Peter actually being back or Aunt May finding out she was wrong.

Is it time again to speculate the end of the Ultimate Universe? Because I think it's a likely time to end the Ultimate Universe. You leave Miles as the only book by January and spring him over to 616 with the ending of Spider-verse.

bobkatt013 posted:If you place Miles in the 616 you lose his supporting cast and that's half the fun of the book. Half? I'd say it's around 75%, still, I don't think Marvel's gonna let the UU keep going with one book that sells ok (unless it's been selling much better lately?) and I can see someone finally deciding to keep Miles ready for the next miscellaneous team book.

Welp, I hope Bendis knows where he's going with this, because I'm starting to doubt Bendis' writing for even this comic...

Him loving off into the sunset was kinda lame imo. Story-wise he's best off leaving, but all that leaves me with is that Peter got a second chance at life and decided to not be a hero anymore, the city's still pretty messed up. It's an out and that's fine to tak and all, but I like stories where the hero refuses the out. :/ I'll see where the dad thing goes, but I think i'll drop this after next issue.

FabioClone posted:True, but she's badass in the survived-a-lot-in-her-life way. Ultimate Aunt May will loving cap you if you mess with Peter. 616 Aunt May poisoned the Chameleon with cookies because it took her half a second to realize he wasn't Peter. So yeah, fusing both of them will generate the proper next Director of SHIELD.

How'd it end? All I could gather is that Doom runs Hydra for Reasons and Miles somehow punches him out cold, then incursion.

I think I liked it up until the mom died, those stories were fine. Then I really felt the downward spiral of nothingness and tie-ins. And the very start of the time skip was promising. Just never fulfilled its promise. Like the run as a whole...

I really like personal moments too, I just feel that after all this time they didn't really amount to much, like I was really digging Miles having to keep his identity a secret because his dad not only hates Spider-man on principle but also because he thinks he killed his wife, then Miles finally reveals it to him... and nothing happens until we get this longass story about 80s Action Cop SHIELD. I guess my complaint is that Miles didn't do enough stuff himself? There were lots of moments of others helping him validate himself and stuff, but nothing as cool and proactive of him as, say, Peter using the wrestling money to pay off Flash's family suing them or him narrating a day in being Spider-man to Aunt May.
