This is the Joe Rogan Experience, your new favorite comedy/drug/skeptic/mma/meathead podcast! It stars our hero Joe Rogan, and his sidekick and resident manchild, Brian Redban. The podcast that started as a good has morphed into one of the most popular podcasts going, enhancing the power of a podcast month by month.

This podcast is a comedy podcast but it often dives into various topics such as psychedelic drug use, the world of mixed martial arts, various "trippy" discussions, road stories from comedians and general pop culture bullshitting. It's possibly one of the more highly controversial podcasts talked about in RGD. Some of the best guests include:

Bryan Callen
Bert Kreischer
Duncan Trussel
Joey "Coco" Diaz

How often does he bring up the fact he thinks the moon landings were faked?

Joe had a debate with the guy from Bad Astronomy on Penn Jillette's podcast where Joe just shouted over him the whole time and wouldn't let him answer. At one point Joe accused the guy of defending Nazis because Wernher von Braun worked for NASA

I relistened to the Redban / Bill Burr Stitcher argument yesterday. I almost forgot how loving dumb Brian was, and how much I hate him on the show. But I love this dumb rear end show.

I've only heard a few episodes but when they have a good guest on, this podcast is really cool. Rogan knows how to have a conversation and has something to say about most topics that are brought up. But when the conversation veers towards drugs I have to switch it off. Not that I'm a prude who hates drugs, but I've never heard anyone who is so annoying about it. Well, other than Kevin Smith.

Listening to the Brendon Walsh episode now. Finally, after 140 podcasts, Joe finally calls Redban out on "most funniest."

Its weird because he rarely talks about the moon landing then someone brought it up here and twice in two episodes one after the other. Everyone talks about how manchild Redban has the speaking ability of a preschooler and Joe starts calling him out for it.

Joe Rogan is a goon.

This is a great way to put it. Most of it is really fantastic, and the last part is worst than anything out there.

For me it's the capitalist/libertarian chat and misogyny when they get on the subject. I can understand how he developed those positions, being a millionaire who has spent the majority of his life surrounded by machismo but I just have to tune out for a while until they get past it.

Redban just says retarded poo poo sometimes most times all the time. i'm ok with it, rogan usually shuts him down pretty quick when something really henious comes out of his mouth, and I think he works as fairly passive sounding board for rogan and guests.

I picked this podcast up a couple months back and I'm hooked. I'm very interesting in pretty much everything he has to talk about.

See, I'm the opposite. As a supporter of psychedelic drugs in general, I love hearing him talk about mind-opening hippie experiences. On the other hand, I zone out whenever he goes on about UFC matches and fighters. I just don't watch those, so to hear him rattle off names and fighting styles bores me to tears.

This too. I'm all for Bro-ing out and machismo, but he uses the word "oval office" a lot, and not just "cunty", which he's tried to show a difference between. Every other word when talking about some woman in the news who's slighted him is bitch and oval office and whore.

I have started to not like him at all, but he will say some random comment once in a while that makes me really laugh.. like when someone said what if the sun was alive and he said offhand "where would the sun poop?".. or when the bandwidth was low on the new episode he said "what are you doing, downloading Smurfs 3D?"

I just love the way Joe flows back and forth from a really articulated position about global politics or some secret government operations back in the 70s to "BLAM SON! THEY GOT YOUR poo poo!" and that's really funny to me. I love MMA and I'm interested in psychedelic drugs so Joe just fits right, his shows tend to run long and I don't have a lot of time to listen to podcasts in a week so I haven't been listening regularly. What are some of the best episodes in terms of comedy and discussion in the last couple months?

The Tim Ferriss one was pretty interesting. The guy is bizarre sperglord genius that has done some cool stuff, and documented it all. The Anthony Bourdain one is also good for people who want to hear what goes on behind the scenes on his show.

I'm sort of torn about this podcast. On one hand they can get into really interesting subjects. On the other hand, I don't give a poo poo about his "main" subjects like conspiracies, drugs, or the paranormal. I wish he would have more shop talk about standup, mma, and stuff like that.

I never set out to be weird. It was always other people who called me weird.
The fact that each podcast is two and a half hours long and comes out (usually) twice a week means I don't often have time to listen to all of it. I think of Rogan cut out his moon landing bullshit and ditched the MMA talk, we'd get 2 solid hours of comedy a week. But I know that's not going to ever happen so I just enjoy the Joe Rogan Experience as much as I can. :D

Also, reposting this from the Comedy Podcast megathread, someone linked this awesome animated Bert Kreischer story that he told on Rogan:

I've listened to every podcast and he hardly ever talks about the moon landing. His deal is that he isn't sure if it is a fake, but he's not convinced it isn't. I understand what he feels about it, since I feel the same way about, say, JFK. But we definitely landed on the moon.

Rogan should have more (non-porn actress) female guests in his podcasts if he wants to dispell the "misogyny" stygma.

I always caught slight misogyny vibes from Rogan and was able to be in denial about it but it wasn't until I heard him rail against women who want to be in power / in politics that, well, jesus christ.

Then he did it again a few days later. This will definitely sound creepy since it's written on the internet but I do kind of wonder what his relationship with his wife is like.

Speaking of his wife, I remember trying to look her up and I couldn't find anything at all. No pictures of her or information or anything. I definitely understand why they'd prefer it that way, but it just seems somewhat strange.

Maybe not, I don't know.

I kind of meant just all of Rogan's conspiracy-theory/new-agey stuff, but mentioned the moon landing because he brought it up in a recent ep. Like that whole episode with the host of "Ancient Aliens" was just a whole parade of dumb.

I noticed the OP describes Rogan's podcast as a "skeptic" podcast but I don't really think it lives up to that. I don't know of any skeptic that would have believed much of that "Ancient Alien" guy's bullshit, or a skeptic that would say you can experience God but only through taking mushrooms. Being doubtful of the moon landing doesn't make you a skeptic either, it just makes you look foolish.

I get that too but if there's really zero media of her whatsoever it makes me wonder if he even allows he to go anywhere with him. By now I would think someone would go "Hey it's Joe Rogan and he's with a woman no one's ever seen before let me snap a picture". Again, very interesting.

People are under a lot of stress, Bradley.
I remember Rogan mentioning that his wife is from Texas and has a very "old school" mentality when it comes to gender roles and such. I think he literally says "me Tarzan, she Jane." That being said, I never really thought Rogan came off as a real misogynist. He says some macho things sometimes, but it never comes off as as actual misogyny. I think words like misogynist and racist get thrown around way too loosely these days.

Flying-Chip

Is it OK to talk about the Deathsquad network here? Since it's kinda the same flavour of podcasts and features everyone's favorite co-host, Brian Redban.

"What's Good?", "Teeb and the Heeb", and "Your Mom's House" are all good in my oppinion, with charismatic hosts and good rapport, Redban doesn't seem to be as annoying here as he is in the Joe Rogan podcast.

"Skeptic Tank" is good because Ari Shaffir is awesome and they often have interesting subjects, I particularly liked the one about the guy who was addicted to prostitutes and the one with the graffitti artist.

"The Naughty Show" is completely unbearable, a bunch of comedians drooling on braindead porn actresses. Avoid at all costs.

"Little Esther's Piecast" I don't know what to think of this one, it's funny when everyone is picking on Esther. I don't know if she's really like that or if she's playing a character, but she seems like a chore to hand around with.

"The Brody Stevens Experiment" I don't get Brody Stevens. Were these shows like this on purpose, if were they just an honest trainwreck?

"UFC Drunkcast" Was also bad, I don't know how anyone could chose this as the commentary track to a UFC event, since no-one there knows poo poo about MMA.

I'm pretty sure this is Jessica Rogan, his wife: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1048658276 I dunno if her photos will load for people who don't have a mutual friend with her, though.

I came to find her profile because I knew his wife's name was Jessica, typed in 'Jessica Rogan' into Facebook, and this came up with Bryan Callen as a mutual friend. Plus it says she's from Colorado but now lives in LA.

Don't add her or anything though, she only has like 100 friends so it's obvious she just uses it as a close friends/family thing.
