Release Schedule: Monthly

1951 Down Place is your home for monthly Hammer discussion! Love Hammer films? So do wee! My co-hosts Scott and Derek meet up once a month to go into deep nerd mode on our Hammer flick of the month. We cover horror, sci-fi, noir and every thing else this classic studio provides!

Recent Episodes:
Episode 9: The Old Dark House
Episode 8: The Quatermass Xperiment
Episode 7: Paranoiac

And finally....

The Dad and his Weird Friends Book Club

Website|iTunes

You'll notice these are the same links for the BGH Podcast... That's because we run it as a BGH Spinoff on the same feed!

Genre: Books/Genre Fiction
Release Schedule: Semi Monthly

The Dad and his Weird Friends Book Club stems from my love of reading and the fact that I wanted book podcast that celebrated genre fiction more so that reviewed it. The Weird Friends part comes from the fact that every episode, I have a different guest that joins me to discuss whatever book we happen to be talking about at the time! (These guests generally consist of other podcasters, bloggers, etc. and I'm always insist on said guests promoting their own stuff, so if you love to read and want to sit in, email me! casey@bloodygoodhorror.com! ) This show is made specifically for science fiction, fantasy, horror, urban fantasy and those style books!

Due to 'Real Life' getting in the way lately, it's been about two months since my last episode. I'm getting ready to gear back up though this week.

Recent Episodes:

Episode 10 - Seven Princes by John R. Fultz
[url=http://www.bloodygoodhorror.com/bgh/podcasts/03/19/2012/dad-and-his-weird-friends-episode-9-a-princess-of-mars]Episode 9 - A Princess of Mars/The Gods of Mars by Edgar Rice Burroughs

The Bloody Good Horror Podcast Episode 221 - "Resident Evil: Retribution

Many topics discussed this week... is Paul W.S. Anderson an idiot savant? Can new guy Andy, with all his fancy book learning, actually find political allegory in a Resident Evil film? Will Eric's head explode with joy? Find out the answer to these and many more questions in Episode 221

1951 Down Place Episode 13: "Hell is a City"

Kicking off Year Two of 1951 Down Place, the Down Placers go to . . . Manchester when they turn their gaze toward 1959′s Hell is a City (dir. Val Guest). This is the first time the gang takes a look at a “Hammer Noir.” How will it fare against these fans of Hammer’s sci-fi and horror offerings? Will Scott find a way to bring up James Bond again? What decidedly-non-British pop culture reference will Derek make that blows Scott’s mind? And Casey? We’ve been podcasting with him for a year, and we still don’t know about him.

The Bloody Good Horror Podcast Episode 222 - The House at the End of the Street

The crew reviews the latest horror film in theaters "House at the End of the Street" starring up and comer Jennifer Lawrence. Discussion ranges from the merits and target audience of PG-13 horror, gratuitous hashtags, and the person with maybe the greatest Twitter handle of all time. Plus, Joe didn't see the movie so he spends 90 minutes trolling the show. Enjoy.

We're doing something different for Halloween! This Sunday Oct. 28th, we're doing our first live video cast for the holidays. We'll be broadcasting via our Youtube Channel and taking live questions via Youtube and Twitter. Since this is part of our regular podcast, I figured I'd share here too to invite you all to come join us!

We'll be watching "Human Centipede II: Full Sequence" for the first time, so it should make for extra awkwardness as we all get exposed to this for the first time!

1951 Down Place Episode #18 - Ten Seconds to Hell

Site|iTunes|RSS

Ten Seconds to Hell (dir. Robert Aldrich). This 1959 Hammer film stars Jack Palance, believe it or not, and is a stark departure from what one might expect from the studio responsible for films like Horror of Dracula or The Quatermass X-Periment. Is Ten Seconds to Hell a bomb, or can the Down Placers defuse the film?

The Bloody Good Horror Podcast Episode 241 - Dark Skies

The Bloody Good Horror Podcast Episode 300!

Episode 300: This is Your Life BGH!

After 7 years, 299 episodes, so many bad horror movies, some good ones, a whole hell of a lot of time in the movie theater, convention appearances, new friends, cast vacations, 2 weddings, a few cross country moves and 2 kids, and becoming an LLC, we've finally hit 300! It's been awhile since I've pimped it here in this thread, but you all helped us out in the early days, so thanks for that!

This week we celebrate 300 glorious episodes of Bloody Good Horror. Along the way, meet almost all of the guest hosts that have appeared on our air over the years, reminisce about the early days of the show, and hear all of your kind feedback about our milestone. Here's to 300 more!

(Excuse the technical issues in the beginning, we were giving Skype a run for its money. It does eventually smooth out)

It's been fun, can't wait for more! Since this, i myself have spawned a spinoff podcast on Netflix movies, game videos and more. We've got a huge site relaunch coming up October 1st, going to be a big year.

Enjoy!

iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/cinema-fromage/id936942925?mt=2
RSS: http://cinema-fromage.podomatic.com/rss2.xml

I've been a podcaster for a long time with the Bloody Good Horror Podcast, The Instomatic and 1951 Down Place but...that never felt like enough. Apparently, I like to hear myself talk! So, I decided since I didn't have a show dedicated to B-Movies, my true movie love, it was time to get one started. Plus, since my wife and I love watching B-movies together, who better to team up with?

We release new episodes every Friday. We've laid some ground rules. They have to be direct to video horror flicks that neither my wife nor I have seen. They can be from any year or era, just not released in theaters. We're 6 episodes in and having lots of fun. You can find all of the episodes over at my old horror blog http://www.cinemafromage.com. In those 6 weeks we've covered:

The Last Showing
The Houses October Built
Zombeavers
Bloody Bloody Bible Camp
Wolf Copy

And our latest ep, Murder Party!

Coming soon we'll be covering Eduardo Sanchez's latest, "Exists", which is excited because I love bigfoot, and Eduardo Sanchez.

Enjoy!

I've been a horror podcast for many years now! So I figured, why not another one! The Mrs. and I have been sitting down once a week and watching 1 direct to video B Horror flick and digging into it after the fact. The rules are simple; it can't have had a theatrical release. It has to be a flick that neither me or my wife have seen! In the end, it's a ton of fun, so hope you enjoy!

I'm concerned for your show, especially because of your hosting platform. I strongly suspect you don't have rights for all the music, and you should know Soundcloud has been on a tear taking down accounts for copyright infringement since they got all corporate and fancy. If you were hosting it somewhere else you'd still be susceptible, but might last longer.
<EDIT> I was mistaken about your media host, I think. Still seems like this might not work out in the long term because they're all subject to similar pressures.

Yah, it's hosted on Podomatic. It's kind of a grand experiment really since I'm using samples instead of entire songs. I followed the model of a lot of other music casts on how they do their samples, so we'll see what happens. Going forward though, I have some real bands lined up with permission to their music and having them on the show as characters as well.
