The dialogue for talking to Veronica about Elijah was in the base game all along, is the thing. It was camouflaged to look like a cut quest.

The last playthrough I did I made it a point not to pick her up as a companion, because "Destroy the Brotherhood bunker" is typically where my games end because I don't want to lose her.

Benny was originally House's second in command, similar to what you would end up becoming. Benny decided very quickly that he would rather have New Vegas all to himself than settle for being a lackey, so he took down a Securitron and had Emily reprogram it into Yes Man, who could decrypt and read House's secure data transmissions. From here, he learned about the Platinum Chip and House's army at Fortification Hill, leading to the events that ended with you getting shot in Goodsprings.

I've been replaying F3 lately and wow, was the dialogue in this game always so stilted and weird? Like I know the story was always okay at best, but I don't remember all of the writing in this game sounding so wrong. It's kind of ruining the game for me actually, there's been way too many dialogue trees where I didn't want to pick any of the options because none of them are things I'd actually say.

If I remember correctly the Gun Runners' bot carries a fair amount of both primer and powder, but no guarantees. My typical ammo crafting mantra is this: 1. Look for the breakdown recipe for the ammo I'm using at the time. 2. Break down ammo that would give me the right powder/primer, maybe others if I need lead. 3. Craft the ammo I need. Alternatively, 1. Breakdown any ammo not being actively used. 2. If I can craft the ammo I am using, do so.

It's worth mentioning that House himself did not participate in that blackjack game, the vault was split evenly between a faction that supported opening the vault to House, and one that was opposed. Since they couldn't resolve the argument, they did it the way they knew best: through gambling. The faction that supported opening the door won on a risky play, hence the situation.

SkyeAuroline posted:Speaking of the NCR and threats to their supply lines: I know that the current Mojave Outpost-McCarran supply route is not the "normal" one and that the chain of events from the Powder Gangers is why they've lost the Sloan route. All that said... is there a reason that none of that route is fortified, at all? There's no NCR camps or fortifications, abandoned or otherwise, on that whole route except Hayes' two-tent squad in Primm. You'd think that the main trade route for a vital front line would have slightly more protection, especially at dangerous choke points (like, I dunno, the mountain range) & considering the use of rail lines that can be sabotaged when nobody's around at all. The NCR's (more specifically, General Oliver's) priority above all else is securing the dam. Everything else is secondary to that objective. Prison guards had been asking for more manpower for months before the breakout but weren't getting any because any reinforcements were just going straight to the dam. The little detachment sent to take back Primm can't move in because no more troops are coming their way. They can't even begin to send caravans back up north because the Mojave Outpost can't spare two-three soldiers to clean up some giant ants a mile up the road. Everything wrong that happens in the Mojave is because of the NCR's complete focus above all else on reinforcing the dam.

NikkolasKing posted:I'm pretty sure this is exactly why House is in dead last place. He's in such last place he's already lost before the game starts. He has no ideology, no commitments, he's just ruling through brute force. His second-in-command betrayed him, you (his new second) betray him in 3/4 routes, and 2/3 Families are disloyal. The NCR is also betraying him and the folks of Freeside, even the Followers, resent and plot against him. All he does is tell people to dress up and play make believe. Not really disagreeing with you, but the NCR isn't going to go anywhere without your help either. If the courier wasn't present and died in Goodsprings, a Legion victory would be almost assured at the second battle. They're in a much better position at the start of the game and most of the NCR vs Legion quests are you undoing the many tactical advantages that Caesar and his Frumentarii already set up before the game even begins. It's unlikely that Benny would be able to accomplish anything even with Yes Man and the chip, and even if he were to somehow make it into the Lucky 38 and replace House, his inability to make and maintain allies (on top of the play the Omertas are already making) would mean that he would likely get rolled over when the NCR/Legion do turn their attention towards Vegas.

My thought for fixing charisma would be to give a scaling multiplier for reputation gain based on what your score is, an above average charisma would make positive reputation easier to gain and negative reputation harder, and the opposite would be true for a low charisma score

I doubt the issue is IP related as Bethesda does occasionally release FNV related merch https://gear.bethesda.net/collections/fallout?page=1 And honestly it's more than I'd consider a token amount, there's figures, t-shirts, bags, I remember looking once and seeing a platinum chip replica and a Tops playing card set. I don't think any lack of representation comes from animosity from its success or anything like that but Beth just doesn't think FNV is "their" game. They were intimately involved in F3, 4, and 76 so naturally they'd want to do more with those games while NV is the project that none of the devs have much professional involvement in. I agree that they could do more with the game and its world but they're clearly not interested outside of the occasional fan service.
