The Bunk posted:This made me imagine about a scenario where SK does an intense, emotional interview with members of Hae's family and then has to ask them to read some ad copy for a promo. Aside from that, Mrs Kennedy, how did you enjoy the ride?

Welp, all sign reall point to fake data. You don't 'accidentally' delete your raw data. This seems to be a pattern in fake science: primary data is lost. Only one of the authors of the paper ever looked at it. The faker claims that the data is real and was collected properly. See the recent case where a Japanese team claimed to be able to turn any cell into a stem cell with a simple acid treatment. That was published in Nature and is now redacted.

Republican Vampire posted:In both the mystery is really secondary to Kine just talking to normal people 'bout stuff. That's part of why I like it. It harkens back to the kind of directionless, almost ambient stuff that used to make up a decent proportion of their segments. just listened to the first two shows, and it's good old slice of life NPR style. not much substance, but very nice to listen to while doing the dishes or waiting for the subway.

Sounds like Alex Blumberg, he was a producer for TAL, then worked on Planet Money and left to start his own podcast business. He made the podcast StartUp about , well starting up a new business. Planet Money ran the first episode. http://gimletmedia.com/show/startup/

Yeah it was a good one. About TAL veterans, Starlee Kine solves a mystery about a lunchbox for Jonathan Goldstein in the tweest yet episode of Mystery Show.

The lunchbox story wasn't very interesting, but the story about the composer who was held at gunpoint by Phil Spector for an entire night was great. Wonder why it took so long for Spector to actually murder someone, he's been waving guns around at his house and studio for decades.

This last episode is one of those pantry episodes where they just lift segments from older ones and compile them into a new theme. Good stories, but none are new :/

Saaaaaame. Really happy to hear Johnathan and Buzz on a podcast again. It's going to be interesting to head Gregor and Howard when they're not in character. I just assume Howard Chakowicz is going to be on sooner or later.

Hey everyone, go listen to Heavyweigh by Jonathan Goldstein. He used to be on TAL, and then ran Wiretap on CBC for many years. It's good. https://gimletmedia.com/show/heavyweight/
