Because of this, rice prices here are shooting up, at least for short grain. It's the flooding in Thailand, they're the biggest rice exporter. The price is only going to get worse, probably.

I love this thread. Yesterday I made a delicious although inauthentic chili with red beans, chicken thigh (it was what I had), onion, canned tomatoes, tomato paste, ancho chili powder, a little bit of paprika, and cayenne. It turned out very well. Making meals that will freeze well is great, I'm starting work soon so I have lots of nice lunches to take in.
