I was shocked to hear that Tom is married to Terre T and I had no idea this whole time. That lucky devil! Her show is great.

By the end it hardly even sounded like he was really going to end the show, he had just outgrown non-profit radio AKA needs a paycheck.

Coming soon: The Best Show on Sirius XM Satellite Radio. I don't know how well that's going to sound in a theme song.

If you're interested in Dave Hill's show and don't hate Seven Second Delay, the last episode has Dave as a guest and serves as his intro to the station. Dave does well with this trial by fire, and won me over with his vast knowledge of 80's rock guitarists along with his good manners.

caller: what's your background in radio?
Dave: I got here at 5:30

If you miss Tom's music and aren't already listening to his wife Terre T's show The Cherry Blossom Clinic, it's time to check it out. She plays great music and has lots of live in studio performances.

You just reminded me that Pete Seeger was one if the advance obituaries they recorded on 7SD a while back. The idea was they would be able to interrupt whatever was playing on the station with a heartfelt tribute, right after the news broke. Time to go digging in the archives.

He also mentioned that it's going to be Terre's final marathon show. It looks like he really might actually be moving west. :smith:

gently caress! Not Terre! I'll miss all those sweet sweet jams she plays.

e- but Dave Hill is doing well for those who haven't checked it out.

Anyone know some good examples of Tom going off about Tom Waits? I'm looking for more, I only see this one on YouTube so far

Weirdly he talked about Tom Waits on this week's show. He said Tom Waits was "like a guy who pretends to run a junkyard"

I'd love to make a Tom Waits hate megamix sometime just to mess with a couple coworkers 👹

I know a couple people there, I’ll try to remember to ask next time I talk to them.

I thought you meant you wanted to be an fmu dj! Was getting ready to encourage you to volunteer as I’ve known a couple people who got shows that way.

But oh well, I don’t know. I don’t see the show in their app

The best part about the weirdos is that they were not fans.

A lot of them weren’t even really WFMU listeners, just total randos browsing the dial. The other WFMU shows get that too and I love it. Sometimes they’re obnoxious and sometimes they’re just wondering what this weird poo poo is that they happened to stumble across. Then they’re all confused when there isn’t even a call screener and they get right on the air.

Also I just got my dj premiums and the shirts are cool as always
