I'm pretty sure he makes a decent of money off of merchandising. You should never underestimate how much dough that stuff can bring in. It wouldn't surprise me if this hobby was pulling in some decent cash for him.

Edit: Any word on when the flash will be published tomorrow? Or is he going for a midnight release.

Edit: I'm laughing right now imagining how some poor newgrounds employee was just drinking his coffee having a perfectly normal day when suddenly in the space of 3 minutes the site reaches max capacity and crashes, and he has no drat idea what just happened.

He really seemed to be pushing the idea that they literally broke the fouth wall and went to Mspaintadventures.com but I have no idea how that could possibly work. I don't think we know enough about how the fourth wall functions according to Hussie.

I finally realized what I like so much about Homestuck. For me, it's what LOST should have been. Both are insanely complicated universes and plots with tons of interconnected characters and events. The difference is that Homestuck is actually well thought out and if you are clever enough you could figure out what is going to happen before it does. Of course most of the time it only makes sense in retrospect. For example the throw away line that the green sun was twice the mass of their universe. This comic is completely brilliant and I can't believe I only found out about it 2 months ago.

I always got the feeling that Dave and John had met before the story began. They make several references to each other's appearance and the appearance of their rooms at the start of the comic, so unless they are going around snapping pics of themselves and uploading them to HomestuckSpace they must have met in real life before.

I can't stop watching Cascade. The whole section from Rose and Dave going into Derse until zooming in on Alternia and Slick/Snowman's showdown is fantastic. The art, animation and music during the splitting of the tumor evoke this feeling of how alien what they (and we) are witnessing.

Completely agree, I can't believe how well done that was, I'm still in shock. I love how he uses the backgrounds and the resizing flash window to really give depth to the animation. Truly a masterpiece of flash video.

On another note:

For me, Easy Mode is probably (other than Cascade) WV: Ascend, not because it's the best flash, but because it marked the moment I realized that Homestuck was no ordinary web comic and that this was going to be a hell of a ride.

Hard Mode? Probably this entire chat log. I dont think I have ever laughed so hard in my life. The characterization is just perfect.
