Don't want to repeat anyone else, but think about what you want to do. Raccoon (from what we know so far), Arthur, and Deadpool are primarily zoning (sitting back and throwing projectiles) characters. Zero can do both, Strider will probably be more offensive characters.

You may be able to find a combination there that will work, but you should just play around with characters until you find some that you like and then work things out from there.

He's still good. He's just not one of the two best characters in the game good anymore.

Wolverine/Sentinel/Akuma is what I used before, and I think the team should still be okay in this game.

For the third...I dunno, I've been thinking about this myself. I've been playing Wesker/Spencer/Doom lately, but Doom's Plasma Beam just doesn't work with Wesker resets. Because Spencer and Doom are probably going to be 2 and 3 on your team, you can pick guys with lovely assists and just let them play out the string on point. Like Iron Fist, maybe, or Chun-Li, or Crimson Viper?
What problems are you having with Doom's beam assist? It comes out slow, but I was able to get it to hit after an OTG gun shot after adjusting to the timing (hit Doom assist button well before the gunshot) when trying it out yesterday.

And imo for that team it would be better to start Spencer, but I have also been making a team with Wesker in the second spot so that I can DHC into his super and have him out there with two assists+no-glasses powerup. Spencer diagonal grapple (sets up ground resets after Wesker OTG, plus I use Wesker's wall bounce moves)/Wesker gunshot (helps with Spencer high-low setups or combos)/Doom beam is one of the ideas I had.

Delving into the guide to answer my own question here, when used as a Crossover Counter Deadpool-a, Thor-b, X-23-y, Chris-a, Felicia-a, Tron-b, and Joe-b are all invincible and can be comboed out of sans-meter. I'm pretty bad, but I've found letting your opponent throw a few attacks that you interrupt with xfactor into Doom Time to be really simple and reliable. Being able to do pretty much the same thing multiple times per game seems really awesome, does anyone actually do this?
The only time I ever saw people using counter to combo into was with Sentinel, where you can activate Hard Drive before landing to have an invincible attack out right away. I imagine you can do this with air X-Factor now with everyone.

What I see with the characters+assists you listed is that they look to be characters that not many people used or assists that people usually don't use. From what I've seen (mainly talking about vanilla): Deadpool is better with Katanarama for OTG or guns to cover space, nobody uses Thor other than Nidd who does use the counter invincibility I believe, X-23 players use Ankle Slice for OTG+low attack, Chris I usually see the grenade, Felicia wasn't used much but the low attack is her best assist at least, pretty much nobody wanted Tron active in vanilla and especially not now in Ultimate, and Joe I don't know.

It causes ground bounce, not hard knockdown. You can still hit them when you land as they bounce off the ground.

I noticed this while playing around with him as well. It's like Akuma's dive kick OTG where you have to hit the OTG move ASAP after you finish an air combo with S. Do the air combo as slow as you can, then go for the flip -> freeze shot as soon as you land.

The usual solution is to keep playing and keep practicing until you stop forgetting everything and are able to apply the strategies and execute the combos you want. Don't know if anyone else has any other tactics for this, but with most people you just keep playing and it will click.

Also, Justin Wong and others are insisting that Felicia is super good in this game, so you can stick with her and wait for footage to pop up to add new tricks to your arsenal.

Strider's teleport kick assist is pretty good too. If it hits an opponent in the air, it causes either hard knockdown or ground bounce, I forget. Floe uses Nemesis/Wesker/Strider and abuses the hell out of the Strider assist.

As far as Joe/Ammy/Rocket, if you go the DIeminion route with Joe and spam Voomerangs with Joe and occasionaly rushdown with his air movement and overhead I imagine the team will be okay with Ammy Cold Star and whatever assist is good with Rocket.

As far as your characters, I think the best setups there would be Viper/X-23/Iron Man as an offensive team and some order of Dormammu/Ghost Rider/Strange as a zoning team. Iron Man's Unibeam assist would be useful for helping Viper/X-23 get in to start offense. The other three are all best as zoning characters (keeping the opponent at a distance with projectiles and long range moves and such) so you could use them all together.

Since nobody has said it yet, Doom. Any of his three assists can help depending on what you want (beam for quick horizontal coverage, rocks for slow horizontal coverage kind of like drones, and missiles for slow full screen coverage), and he's a really good anchor.

And of course there's Wesker, who doesn't really help Hawkeye much but can help Vergil extend combos I would think, and is probably the best anchor in the game.
