My GF decided that she would update my laptop running ubuntu 10.10 last night :allears:

, turns out she not only grabbed the few update patches she also went ahead and updated to Ubuntu 11.10 :suicide:

Anyhow Considering i didn't have any recent backups prior to her updating looks like i'm stuck on this clusterf%%%

How do i get Chromium to only zoom text size & keep the new setting so when the laptop is either shutdown or rebooted etc the size does not reset back to default.

Never experienced this issue. Every machine i have Chrome installed on are still healthy chugging away on there 1st created profiles without issue.

Anyone else having issue's using google maps?

mine appears to sit there "Un-Responsive" works perfectly under ie9 & ff 3.6.28

win7 64bit Running the latest stable version of chrome.

Funnly enough when i load up chrome under ubuntu 11:04 that uses the same extensions but synced under a different profile google maps works flawlessly.

Hmm i totally did not think about resetting anything on the /flags page, i assumed they would of been default reset after i did a clean re-install??

Maybe when i re-synced my data it may have rechanged the /flag settings.

Anyhow maps & other sites that were working iffy are now working flawlessly again, thanks heaps.

edit: Un-unstalled Flash and Chrome, and re-installed both. Now I can get Youtube in IE, but Chrome is still broken.

Had similiar happen while loaded up in the latest Debian. I didn't bother meddling with anything and stuff magically fixed itself.. :regd11:

Download a PDF file, then when it is done, left click on the download icon at the bottom and select "always open this type of file" Now It should open any PDF link you click in that window without downloading it to a permanent location.

To undo it go into Options>Under the Hood tab>Clear Auto Opening Settings.

try about :flags and click the reset all to default's. then while it's closed run the cleartype tuner then open chrome and toggle the directwrite on/off

Have you randomly applied a custom blocking rule in Adblock ? I'm using latest Chrome and adblock and i'm not experiencing any of those issues.

maybe go into adblock options, then select your own filters and double check you haven't added a custom filter that may be causing that issue.

Personally i like the way it looks now, much easier on my eyes for some weird reason.

I do indeed find it kinda amusing seeing so many people on so many different websites getting all flustered over how a font has changed appearances. At work they're were 2 chaps having a good ol' yarn about it in the lunchroom.

if you have any greasemonkey / stylish-stylus/tampermonkey type extensions etc then manually backup that stuff to a safe spot then re-import the stuff after re-installing, everything else should sync fine when you login to your google account and sync the data

I often have large playlist of rando music playing in background while doing other stuff and found that extension awhile back when it 1st started pausing/stopping the audio playing in the background.

Maybe try restore chrome or disabling extensions and re-enabling 1 at a time and see if any are causing the issue.

Not long after posting had an issue, it said soundcloud API is overloaded and to refresh. Had the site open and just playing minimized in it's own window for nearly 4hrs and it stopped and bottom screen had black bar with the SoundCloud API issue.

It translated the whole page perfectly fine for me when i right clicked and clicked the translate to English:>

I sometimes get the translation issue and when i clear the cache and restart the browser and try the page again it usually fixes the problem. Also is your Chrome the latest version ?

Click the 3 line hamburger top right then mouse over more tools then select create shortcut, it will then create a shortcut on the desktop of the website. You can leave the Shortcut on the Desktop or you can click and Pin it to the Taskbar also.

I'm running Version 97.0.4692.71 (Official Build) (64-bit) windows 10 Pro. On my laptop that is on win 10 home it has then menu.

So just make sure the browser is updated to the latest build i guess via the 3 dot menu then at the bottom click the Help menu then click about google chrome and it should show you if your on the latest build or not, if not then just click update/relaunch.

Have you tried clearing the cache.

I usually find after 6 months or so i get similar "Laggy" type issue's even though i have 32Gb ram and a i7 6700K and a inno3d IChill Liquid cooled 2080 super GPU.

I Run Ccleaner and only leave the Password box unchecked and then once it runs when i re-launch Vivaldi it runs smooth again i think it might have to do with the cache going over a certain GB amount. Mine usually starts playing up when the cache goes over 100GB.

If you don't want to download use Ccleaner then just copy paste in the url bar ( vivaldi://history ) Then top right click the Broom looking icon select on the drop down all time and click the options you want deleted then click Delete.

I also don't leave the computer or Laptop on when not in use have have 20+ tabs pinned.

Very rarely do i leave the Desktop Gaming PC or Laptop running powered on for more then 4 days. Usually i turn them of when not in use.

Power prices here in Aus are crazy stupidly expensive, and with a wife 2 kids we get some insane Power/Gas bills. So the practice in the house is if it's not in use then it's turned of at the power point excluding the Fridge - Modem - Router and needed stuff in the Garage.
