Any recommendations for books on the Opium War/Boxer Rebellion/Shanghai in the 1930s? Anything within that century of Chinese history would be great.

I really enjoyed this. I'm not sure if you're into true crime, or if the major focus being the UK ex-pat community would put you off, but I thought it did a good job of explaining the politics of the area at the time.
