They're playing with A Place to Bury Strangers in a few months here in Minneapolis and I can say I'm rather excited to go see them, I'm usually not a fan of female fronted rock bands but they look promising. APtBS was amazing when I saw them 2 years ago, definitely a band who can rip your ears off.

I'm seeing this show too! I've seen Joy Formidable and APtBS and I know they're excellent live. March 23rd in Cincinnati is Joy Formidable, APtBS, and ExitMusic. I wanted to bring up the second opener because they are also really good. So far they only have an EP and a single, check it out.

ExitMusic is a husband wife duo, and the wife, she plays Angela in Boardwalk Empire. I know that face

So I'm really excited for that concert.

Plum - The Seed

I've been enjoying this album lately. Dark and sweet and synthy.

She has 3 tracks streaming on her site, 'Myriad' is great: Plum tunes

This track is fun too: http://soundcloud.com/plum/05-smile

I've been hearing awesome singles from these two bands in the past months and now the albums are out. Solid albums. And fully streamed here:

Jewellers - Lakeswimmer

Self described as electronic ambient electronica funk soul.

This album has all the perfect sound textures and little effects and in all the right combination to hook into my brain. I've enjoyed this countless times so far this year. Looking around on the internet there is hardly anything out there about it. So I wanted to share, full album streaming: http://jewellersmusic.com/album/lakeswimmer

The second track reminds me of when a computer hard freezes and leaves the audio looping a small chunk of sound. In a good way.

Full album stream for Joy Formidable - Wolf's Law is up at rolling stone. Album comes out on the 22nd.

Compared to their first album, it seems there is more variety to their sound here. And even more of the fantastic rock sound they had on the first album. It's really good.

Also, if they have a show near you, make sure you go, they are absolutely killer live.

Not sure if this is the correct thread, but Savages are streaming their upcoming album on their website:

And I loving love it.

I second your recommendation. I really like this album and have listened to it many times already. It's been getting stellar reviews too, I bet it'll make some 'album of the year' lists.

Oh and if you've heard Patti Smith's "Horses" you should really listen to the track "Husbands".
