St. Lucia is an up-and-coming artist who's released four songs over the past year, and I've loved every one to death. His newest one is available to listen over on Spinner.com, hopefully followed by his debut album sooner rather than later.

His first single, which charmed me instantly, is also available to listen on his Bandcamp page, if you want to hear more.

I've never heard pop music so perfectly suited to my taste. And for once I get to say I was a fan from the very start.

This has absolutely been my favourite song this year. The whole album is also excellent, really enjoyable straight forward indie rock.

I've been waiting for it for two and a half years, but St. Lucia's debut album When The Night is finally out, and it is just incredible. Upbeat and joyous, it is fast becoming my favourite pop album.

Awesome, you can stream the new Cut Copy album on their site: http://www.cutcopy.net/

edit: It's really good, no surprise there.

edit2: haha what, sampled saxophones in "Meet Me in a House of Love" are hilarious

Love that song, love this album. After being mildly disappointed by Arcade Fire's new stuff, it's uplifting to hear new stuff that's exactly what I want (and expect) from a band I love.

This song's incredible. Love that she apparently has the same reaction to a sudden saxophone in a pop song as I do. :v:

Yeah, I love it as well. About on par with the first album, I'd say. Every Other Freckle is a hell of a song, I can't get it out of my head.

This is a real good list.

This is my 10 in a chronological order, I trimmed away some of the bigger names and artists this thread is already plenty familiar with. Ended up pretty poppy this year.

Going through more of these lists tonight, really liking that Go! track, Vastakaiun.

Yeah, Public Service Broadcasting is pretty great. Their thing is they use samples from old public broadcasting and archive footage as their vocals. Their first album was all old british educational films (My favourite track from that album), and "The Race For Space" is about, well, the space race. It's a hell of an album.

Saw M83 last night on the first date of their new tour. They played a bunch of new material and it all sounded great. They didn't play any songs I really wanted to hear from BTDHU like Moonchild, Teen Angst, A Guitar And A Heart, etc., so that was a bummer, but they played some other favorites of mine like We Own The Sky and a whole bunch of good stuff from HUWD.

Here's the setlist:

-

Also the new keyboardist is insanely talented. Like holy gently caress can she sing. She's also gorgeous and smiled a lot throughout the whole show, which made her electrifying to watch.

I got to shake Anthony's hand during Midnight City since I was in the front row, too, which ruled :swoon:

I'm planning on seeing them on a music festival in August (along with stuff like Chvrches, the Last Shadow Puppets and Hercules & Love Affair) and man that setlist is making me excited. It's basically all my favorites + the best songs from the new album (For The Kids, Solitude, Laser Gun, Road Blaster).

I really like the new album. It's a bit different but in a way that works for me.

What an incoherent bunch of songs this turned out to be. I left out some of the bigger names like M83, James Blake, the 1975 and Empire of the Sun because people have already heard about those.

Super late thank you to the guy who had the Spector song in their playlist a year ago, I ended up loving that album a whole lot.

Heard this new song by a 18-year-old British indie rocker named Declan McKenna today, and I'm really, really digging it.

His voice kept reminding me of another British singer, and I only just now figured out who I was thinking of: the guy from Bombay Bicycle Club.

A new Mew album came out recently and it's really grown on me, I think it's easily their best since like 2005. "Carry Me To Safety" is especially great.

I also love "Nothingness And No Regrets" and "85 Videos". Here's a sampler for the whole album.

Tried to keep my 10 songs to stuff that I didn't see many mentions about (except for maybe Hatchie), so I chose two songs from each of my five favourite indie albums this year.

As a young gay guy still figuring myself out when it came out, Night Work hit me like a truck. One of my all-time favorite albums. Invisible Light is still incredible.
