Been on a kick of Sky Ferreira thanks to a friends recommendation from here I believe, and got to see her last night, holy poo poo was she good live. She came off as being really grateful to the crowd and a bit shy, but she opened up a bit more at the end.

Edit>> Something I thought of later today, about half way through the show her keyboard player handed her a paper plan and told her to throw it during a song. It went about 3 feet into someones face and she struggled to get back on vocals for a verse because she was laughing so much. poo poo like that makes me appreciate live shows so much.

On a side note, I finally saw Phantogram in a smaller venue and the people in this thread that said they were amazing live were completely right. Probably one of my favorite shows ever.

I saw them back in early October and it pretty much sparked me to see five other concerts in a months time. I've gone to bigger venues than the one they played at, yet Phantogram in a smaller place was still louder than any other, and wrecked my body for a good two days after the show. They will literally blow your tits off.

Possibly Darkside. They got a great review from Pitchfork and one of the writers there labeled them as Pink Floyd-esk.

Another one I saw this year was Poliça, and they have a semi psychedelic feel to them I feel like.

Digital Witness in particular is very weird, but I love them both. Cannot wait for the album.

I really like them, but I was just introduced to St Vincent in the past month, so I might not be as nostalgic for her older stuff like most seem to be.

I've recently discovered Banks and can not get enough of her. She only has a four song EP and a few other singles, but I swear I've listened to it all like ten times in the past two days.

Was listening to this earlier today, funny that I think only three or four songs on it haven't been released yet. It's got four from the EP and three singles they have released in the past month and a half. Still, I am super pumped for this album. Howling At The Moon is another power house of a song, 75% of the songs on Voices are phenomenal singles on their own.

I did enjoy her show here last month, but be warned she has been canceling shows out of the blue to do others things. She moved two shows (two days after the show I saw her) in Ohio to the end of the year because she was asked to do the Nirvana induction and cancelled like another weeks worth of shows in London because Saturday Night Live asked her to be the musical guest. I understand big things like this can come up, but it's pretty lame to just dump on your fans like that.

I love St Vincent on record, but am I the only one who finds her current live choreographed schtick a little lame and cringey? I'm not hating too hard: her performance is awesome aside from that

Ps one of the performances is on YouTube if you're not in the UK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VmnhY9Smj3M

This is the way I and a few friends felt after seeing her live. She sounds amazing on an album, but it doesn't seem to transfer over to a live performance very well. Her choreography is neat too, but it feels forced to me, like it isn't really her.
