Besides the usual I like listening to the indie rock playlist for new music, there can be a lot of terrible poo poo in there (The Killers and Pomplamoose last month ugh) but you occasionally get gems. http://theindierockplaylist.com/ Haven't listened to the new one yet but from a quick look I can recommend Priory, Grouplove, Mother Falcon, The Black Keys, Dum Dum Girls, Destroyer, Florence (though I would be surprised if anyone here doesn't know her or The Black Keys), Los Campesinos!, The Vaccines (somewhat, depends a lot on the song) and Rabbit (if you like twee)

For twee basically read this pitchfork http://pitchfork.com/features/articles/6176-twee-as-gently caress/ ,look up every band that you like and get those for a quick starter of the essentials of older twee. If you're done with that twee is actually having somewhat of a mini-revival now (or maybe it never went away? I don't know but there is a huge gap in my album years) but check Los Campesinos! (a bit punk inspired Twee, still owns a lot), Architecture in Helsinki (Electronic Twee-ish stuff, still very cutesy), I'm From Barcelona (they can get a bit overly on the childish aspect though), My Little Airport (Chinese Twee), My Little Pony (Awful name (and not related to the show), I know but they share a lot of indie pop sensibilities with twee), Rabbit! (very, very sugar sweet indie pop). For Dream pop check Asobi Seksu, Beach House and E for Explosion also look into Chillwave, because in my experience a lot of chillwave stuff sounds very close to Dream Pop. Folk Talk: I have been digging Of Monsters And Men a lot lately http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86tDEuoOSko and also getting back into older Okkervil River stuff http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8EMLbKNcKww Will Shef totally killed someone though, the guy has a lot of songs from the viewpoint of a murderer and the like.

Also have a decent Indie Pop band I stumbled upon: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xbQYj2JQB9A

Must see? Underwhelming live? Any insight appreciated before I pull the trigger. I heard they are really god live but if you want to go, buy fast. When I wanted to go they sold out months before (which is very unusual over here) and I wasn't able to get a ticket.

Also the new Islands album is really good y'all, and there are 2 new Songs by Allo Darlin' coming out in preparation for their new full length as well as a new Imagine Dragons & Miniature Tigers albums coming up. Its a good time for pop/rock

Seeing as you have 4 twee or twee influenced bands (AiH, B&S, LC!, TMF) in there, have you checked out twee? Camera Obscura is a lot like B&S for the modern twee sound, Johnny Foreigner and Fighting Apes aren't twee at all but hit the same screaming punky sound LC!. For The Magnetic Fields (69 love songs) check out some of the other twee classics like Heavenly or newer soft pop like Jens Lekman. For AiH, if you are looking for music like their newest album I find that FM Belfast hits the same sort of note and for the older albums stay with twee. There is a lot more out there, but this should help a bit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O3CkfvYMCWM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1NUbOQMCKY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCNSoWSvyX4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EeeNSFIajsI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4K90J59LQ4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xf_GTbcSlc

The new Miniature Tigers album is almost out, they are a pretty good indie pop/rock group and you can listen to their new album here: http://www.spin.com/articles/first-spin-hear-miniature-tigers-sexy-mia-pharaoh-lp They seem to be taking somewhat more of an electronic twist to their usual mix of indie pop with some more experimental songs. Anyway check it out, I dug it. Also @ Field Mouse, is it me or does this sound a lot like a modern The Field Mice? Maybe its the name. Chairlift is cool, but I don't really feel I can judge them fairly due to all the fake 80's nostalgia they dig up? Also Boy&Bear guy, I assume you know Fleet Foxes? They (FF) always sounded like a more popular and somewhat boring version of them to me. And the new Imagine Dragons EP is really good Y'all

I looked up the surf pop tag to see which of my bands fit it, so not really sure if these exactly fit in but: Dum Dum Girls, Les Savy Fay and No Age? Also since you list Wavves maybe try some other noise pop bands like The Jesus & Mary Chain, Sleigh Bells, The Men, The Pains of Being Pure At Heart and so on?

Not just you, there is a huge Twee and Indie Pop 'revival' going on there which along with the fact that some of the most influential modern Indie Pop artists originate there make it so that there is an extremely friendly environment there for new bands.

Also obvious suggestions are 'Come on feel the Illinoise' by Sufjan Stevens, Andrew Bird, Boy & Bear, Fleet Foxes ( I find them boring, but you might like them), The Crane Wife by the Decemberists, Devendra Banhart, Hyde & Beast, Great Lake Swimmers, M. Ward, The Unthanks, Wye Oak and Beirut. Should be enough to last you a while.

Kill For Love has some excellent tracks (The first 4 and the last 2) but I can't remember which track is which with the inbetween ones. The pauses in some of them annoy the gently caress out of me too. Also its good to see P4K give a bad review to Alt-J, finally my dislike of them despite all my friends pushing them is validated.

This is my favorite holiday, and one of my favorite "yeah, this is where I want my life to be right now" moments is throwing on a little Christmas music, lighting a fire, and letting the tree and the fire (and the XBMC visualization) be the only light in the room. That's okay because the She & Him Christmas album is awful. Go for the Christmas Special by The Boy Least Likely To instead.
