Not An Irish Monk posted:I listened to it like five times yesterday, but I still really can't get into it."Aim and Ignite" is a really fun album, and they do create a unique sound here, but I feel like most of the music itself gets weighed down by the really cluttered production. "Aim and Ignite" was crisp and tight, this album tries to be more sprawling and grandiose and only succeeds in bursts. And i really hate the abundance of auto tune. Maybe this will grow on me, they're still pretty catchy at least. I was completely into it after my second listen, but then again I loved the autotune and how it was used 95% of the time. Still have to say that Aim and Ignite is superior. I really loving love "Stars" on this album though.

I don't know if they've been mentioned in this thread, but Hospitality is amazon's deal of the day, making their album(it's awesome, buy it) only $3.99. http://www.amazon.com/Hospitality/dp/B0071T66E2 Two of my favorites from the album: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q699Ivz_S2U http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GJiUBGOsr8

Apparently NPR does a thing called the 9:30 Club which is just live streams of concerts. fun. just finished a live show minutes ago that was absolutely amazing. I need to find a way to get money for their show in Pittsburgh next month: http://www.npr.org/event/music/151685907/live-thursday-fun-in-concert it hasn't been archived yet but once it is check it out. It's also worth mentioning that Spiritualized will be on the 9:30 Club next week. That's another stream that everyone should check out. I'll have to remember to post a link the day it is scheduled.

MC Fruit Stripe posted:Yeah I could really go for a bit more Christmas music. Not some novelty version of Jingle Bells sung by a 5 year old, just, you know, music, that is about Christmas. This is my favorite holiday, and one of my favorite "yeah, this is where I want my life to be right now" moments is throwing on a little Christmas music, lighting a fire, and letting the tree and the fire (and the XBMC visualization) be the only light in the room.
