Krazyface posted:A third song from St Vincent's upcoming album, "Prince Johnny", is now available for download (if you've preordered on iTunes). Also, while the other songs are greyed out, you actually can sample them (again, on itunes). Here it is, for anyone to listen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idllxjHbX7w drat am I excited for this album. In the meantime, Sun Kil Moon's new album Benji has been getting mass hype, and it is well-deserved. Never heard an album that was so brutally honest, it sacrifices nothing and instead depicts the reality of life and death in all its forms. This is a less depressing song from it, "Ben's My Friend": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHH-pAYaMEI

Have any of you seen Real Estate live? I've been digging their new album and they are in town at a cool venue tomorrow, but I am not sure if I should go or not. Is it worth it to check them out?

She's put out a whole lot of music in the past year plus and she's only 19 I think? Holy gently caress. I can't get enough of this album. Every song is fantastic, though I especially love I Do Too. Thanks for this.

No, but the album has been floating around the net for a while. Definitely in my top 3 of 2014 thus far. Incredible record.

So the new St. Lenox album, Ten Hymns from my American Gothic, is floating around. This guy is really good, and this album is absolutely fantastic. Not sure how to describe him but he is certainly unique and wonderful. Here's a song from the new album: Thurgood Marshall And here's an old good song: The Greyhound Bus Song

What are people's thoughts on the new Father John Misty? I also think it is quite good. TBF I am not very critical when it comes to music. Basically my test is: do I like to listen to it? Then it is good.

Sir Lemming posted:Mutemath just dropped the first, and probably only, video from their upcoming album. It's an odd choice for a single, since it's way more "guitar rock" than anything else I've heard from the album, and we all know that's not exactly "in" these days. (They still stubbornly refuse to push "Break The Fever", which has lots of hit potential based on the concert recordings I've heard.) On the other hand, I guess "War" is better for a basic band performance video. What? Pretty sure guitar rock is still "in" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajrpkp0ZR1I https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWxYKJtH_bc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GcNVGpFhqC8

Didn't like new The National album on the first listen, but it has since grown on me. New Alvvays is good. LCD is amazing. QoTSA is okay. Grizzly Bear is still awesome. Have the new DFA queued up, along with new Zola Jesus, which is apparently real good too. So much great music this year, it is nuts!
