Another (previously?) underrated british band: Scanners. Apparently one of their song has been included in some series on TV, so they're probably gonna get into hype mode. Great on stage as well. Do you guys have any concerts you're planning to attend?

What do you guys think about the last Hot Chip? I don't think i've seen anything about it yet in the thread. Personnally, i'm a bit conflicted about it: the beginning of the album reminds me of Metronomy's first songs, and i don't really like what's after Flutes (which, btw, is my favorite track on the album).

Did you guys listen to Cat Power's last album "Sun"? She now seems to be under antidepressant treatment, but i wouldn't say that she's radically changed. Most songs are more joyful and a bit more up-tempo than before, with more electronics thingies, which makes the LP more pop-ish, but i'm still not a fan. For reasons i don't fully understand, people around me seem to have a crush on "Ruin", but "3,6,9" is my favorite. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_nl3Oo4-IQ4 On a completely different register, i like very much WhoMadeWho's latest album. For those who are fond of the scandinavian indie artists, Masquer is one band to keep an eye on. Their electro-pop is not unlike Darkness Falls' earlier this year, and definitely deserves a spot on the Sweden music shelf next to Peter, Bjorn and John, The Knife and many others. So i'm looking for this piece of music which got released around last fall and in which ~a well known band~ (by indie standards) uses the lyrics from the litany against fear of the Bene Gesserit in Frank Herbert's Dune series of books. I've been looking on google, stereogum, and have been asking to my friends, but none seem to be able to help. Hence my asking to you, mighty goon-hivemind. Nobody seems to have mentioned Austra's second LP "Olympia" yet. This new album is much less dark and cold than the first one (even though i still think said first one is a blast), with some parts that really sound very 70es-inspired. Overall, the whole thing sounds more polished, but still retains that special coldwave thing they had on the first album. Saw them in concert last month: they improved on-stage as well. Stelmanis' and the twins' voices are definitely more adjusted. Their choregraphy and gestures in general still make them look as if they were on mushrooms, though. Can't comment on the similarity with Bon Iver since for some reason i seem to be the only person on Earth who can't recall a song from him (the name and face have been ringing a bell for quite some time though)
